Two members of the Biden administration, transgender Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine and “non-binary” Department of Energy official Sam Brinton, made a splash at a party at the French ambassador’s home Thursday.
Brinton, who dresses in drag and has boasted online about his puppy role-play fetish, wore a blue dress and high heels. Levine, who Biden elevated from Pennsylvania health secretary to health “admiral” despite a highly controversial handling of COVID lockdowns, wore a uniform with a skirt and heels.
“Week 4 On The Job: Champagne and Celebration with the French Ambassador in his residence for Bastille Day,” Brinton wrote on Instagram. “(But also the amazing opportunity to connect with one of the only other transgender government officials, Admiral Levine – not gonna lie, it felt great to commiserate with a fellow trans person facing the hate.)”
Brinton’s account has sense been made private, but others took screen shots of the photo.
Levine, a biological man who had a sex change after being married and raising kids, was named one of USA Today’s “Women of the Year” earlier this year. While head of Pennsylvania’s health department at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, Levine was one of a handful of blue-state officials who ordered nursing homes to accept infected patients who had been discharged from hospitals.
The disastrous decision was blamed for tens of thousands of deaths in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. At the same time, Levine’s 95-year-old mother was moved out of a nursing home and away from infected residents.
Brinton is deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel at the Department of Energy. His job includes “evaluating the feasibility of the direct disposal of dual-purpose casks; implementing high burn-up, large scale, long-term, dry storage cask research; and developing a consent-based siting process for consolidated, federal interim storage of spent nuclear fuel,” according to the DOE.
Brinton, who studied nuclear engineering at MIT, and his husband, Kevin, dress up as dogs as part of a bizarre sexual fetish known to participants as “pup play.” Brinton has given lectures on kinky sex practices, including presentations about adults who like to wear diapers and pretend they are babies, as well as fetishes involving pup play, humiliation, and degradation.
The party at the French Ambassador Philippe Etienne’s home marked Bastille Day, the date in 1789 that the French stormed the Bastille in one of the most dramatic events of the French Revolution.
