Kanye West has been trolled by a cartoon pig.

The American rapper and fashion mogul dropped his new album 'Donda' on 29 August following listening events at Soldier Field in Chicago and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to mixed reviews.

One such review in particular - a 6.0 rating given by music news and reviews website Pitchfork - drew the attention of a rival star and global icon in her own right: Peppa Pig.

Turns out that Peppa, a loveable cartoon pig watched by kids in 180 countries around the world, had dropped an album of her own entitled Peppa's Adventures on July 30 which had scooped a 6.5 rating from Pitchfork - a whole .5 higher than Donda.

In a somewhat out of character move for the typically soft-spoken swine, Peppa took to Twitter and delivered Kanye a beatdown hotter than any hog-roast.

In a now deleted tweet, Peppa roasted Kanye via Twitter, poking fun at the rapper whose new album scored a lower rating than 'Peppa's Adventures' on website Pitchfork

The tweet read: 'Peppa didn't need to host listening parties in Mercedes-Benz Stadium to get that .5,' in reference to the aforementioned events attended by tens of thousands of fans as well as controversial artists Marilyn Manson and DaBaby.

Singer Marilyn Manson is currently facing several sexual assault cases, while DaBaby has been criticised for allegedly making homophobic and misogynistic remarks on stage.

Peppa's sass was short-lived - she quickly reverted back to her usual polite self and the tweet was deleted from her account - but not before a legion of Twitter users - who may or may not be Peppa Pig fans - screenshotted the tweet and sent it viral.

However, this isn't the first time that Peppa Pig has made headlines in the music industry.

Peppa Pig's first album, creatively named 'My First Album,' garnered huge online notoriety in the summer of 2019 when Internet users united to boost Peppa Pig's numbers on popular music streaming service Spotify.

Initially, the joke was predicated on the premise that Peppa Pig's debut album would outstrip new music from popstar Iggy Azalea, who was due to release music on the same day as Peppa Pig's musical debut.

But, the joke went so far that Peppa's 'My First Album' received millions of downloads on Spotify, leading to a distortion in the 'related artists' section for Peppa Pig's page.

Instead of the page providing recommendations for music from other children's television shows or cartoons, the recommended artists section displayed a line up of artists such as  Rina Sayawama, Kim Petras, and LOONA, all of whom have sizeable LGBTQ fandoms.

Donda is Kanye's tenth studio album and bears the name of his late mother who died in 2007 from complications associated with a breast lift surgery.

The album was initially set to be released on July 24 but was delayed several times.

According to Kanye, Universal Music Group, released the album on Sunday without his permission: 'UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM,' West wrote in all caps on Instagram.

Kanye meanwhile is yet to respond to Peppa's taunt.

The Peppa Pig social media account is managed by parent company Entertainment One. MailOnline has  contacted a member of the social media team but no one was available to immediately respond.
