An armed intruder reportedly broke into a woman's house — and while she wasn't able to brandish her own firearm, she was able to disable him with a pot of hot cooking grease.

What are the details?

The incident took place on Thursday in Decatur, Alabama, when Larondrick Macklin, armed with a pistol, entered the home that reportedly belonged to his ex-girlfriend.
Macklin, 31, reportedly burglarized the unnamed woman's home, and caused a domestic disturbance. To fend him off, the woman reportedly threw hot cooking grease in his face. When police arrived at the scene, Macklin was still there, and had apparently suffered extensive burning to his face.
USA Today reported that a detective determined that Macklin was the "primary aggressor in the altercation." Police also said that Macklin "entered the victim's house with a firearm, and the victim defended herself with a pot containing hot grease."
Macklin was taken to the hospital for treatment, and was remanded to jail without incident.
USA Today noted that a police spokesperson told the outlet that they cannot confirm the relationship between Macklin and the woman.
"Since the situation was of a domestic nature, we are not at liberty to discuss the relationship between the victim and the suspect at this time," a police spokeswoman said.
The Birmingham News, citing court records, reported that Macklin is being held at the Morgan County jail with a bail set at $300,000. Authorities charged Macklin with felony charges of burglary and domestic violence. If convicted on those charges, he faces up to life in prison.

What else?

In a Monday news statement, the Decatur, Alabama, Police Department said that Macklin is "considered innocent until proven guilty."
