When was the last time you cleaned your oven? It's the kitchen appliance many home cooks often forget about for months, if not years.
But a group of Australian mothers have discovered a simple method that will completely strip baked-in grime and grease - and leave your oven squeaky clean without hours of scrubbing.
All you need is a dishwasher tablet, aluminium foil and a bathtub filled with hot water. The process takes at least two hours - but during that time you simply sit back, and let the DIY treatment do all the dirty work for you.
A mother found a clever way to clean her oven by pulling out different parts, wrapping them individually with foil and then soaking them in a bathtub of hot water and a dishwasher tablet
Using the simple trick, the woman managed to remove years of baked-in grease with nothing more than foil, water, and a dishwasher tablet
She shared amazing results of her cleaned oven online, including the now-transparent glass window that was once covered in grease and what appeared to be smoke
The handle also had a deep clean after she let it soak in her crafty DIY treatment
The cleaning hack can be used on any part of the oven that can be removed - with testers thus far showing off how it has transformed their oven racks, oven door windows, and even their oven door handles.
To begin, pull out each piece from the oven completely, and wrap each one individually in foil.
Then, fill a bathtub full of hot water and put the foil-wrapped oven parts under the water.
'I ran the bath (hot water only),' the woman who revealed the clever hack explained. 'I wrapped the racks in foil then submerged them in the bath.'
If your racks and other oven parts don't stay submerged, some people suggest placing bottles of shower gel or shampoo on top of them to keep them weighed down.
From there, the rest is incredibly easy.
'Simply place a dishwashing tablet on top of the wrapped racks. Then I leave them alone for two hours,' the woman continued.
'I went back and while leaning over the bath, I wiped the racks with magic eraser.

Sharing is caring: Other women are now trying out the hack and sharing their results online, revealing how the treatment transforms their once-grimy and dirty oven racks
Once each part of the oven has been wrapped up in foil, whether it's the glass, the handle, or the racks, you have to place it in the tub for two hours to soak with a dishwasher tablet

The two-hour process will also leave your bathtub sparkling  while cleaning the oven racks and any other pieces of the oven you manage to remove
'No elbow grease or much effort at all.'
The hack - which is works so efficiently because of a chemical reaction between the foil and the dishwasher tablet - has quickly taken the internet by storm, with homeowners everywhere trying the treatment out for themselves, before taking to social media to share their incredible results.
People are even making their own special tweaks to the method in order to try and make it all the more effective.
One woman, who pulled out her racks and trays, as well as removing the glass oven door completely, explained that she added bicarbonate of soda to the water, and allowed the parts to soak for longer than than the two hours.
'Left mine for 3.5 hours with Fairy tablet and bicarb,' she said. 'This is years of grime. They have never been this clean,' she said.
She shared amazing results of her squeaky clean oven, including the now-transparent glass window.
Like new again! Another woman unveiled her sparkling oven after the cleaning process
One woman admitted she was initially 'skeptical' after reading about the cleaning 'hack' but said she was stunned to find the racks sparkling after the soak
Another woman admitted she was initially 'skeptical' after reading about the cleaning 'hack' but even she was stunned to find her racks left sparkling after the soak.
'Use what you have, no need to buy more products,' she suggested.
After draining her bathtub, the woman also added that she found no grease stains left behind - and her bathtub actually looked as good as new.
'My bath is fine, it just wiped off,' she noted.
And if you don't own a dishwasher, or don't have any dishwasher tablets handy - fret not. Other mothers suggested using laundry detergent or even barbecue grill cleaner, explaining that the hack is just as effective with these substitute ingredients.
'Soaking in [Vanish] Napisan also works,' one woman revealed.
