DeSantis Makes It Simple For Media On Proper Curriculum For Kids

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sought Tuesday to dispense with any confusion the media or educators may have about what can and can’t be taught in classrooms when bells ring this fall.

DeSantis, who has championed a a law aimed at returning to academic basics amid the Left’s increasing emphasis on imposing liberal social mores on children, said it comes down to the three Rs. The Republican governor’s tweet followed a Washington Post article that claimed Florida school officials are “plagued by confusion and uncertainty about what a raft of new laws.” They needn’t be, DeSantis said.

“As students head back to their classrooms this fall, I’m happy to clear up any ‘confusion’ the media may have about appropriate curriculum:   ✅ Math, Reading, Writing  ❌ CRT, Sexualized Content, Transgender Ideology  Florida schools will educate children, not indoctrinate them,” DeSantis tweeted.

In April, DeSantis signed House Bill 7, which, according to an explainer of the bill, stated that Florida education would not include “indoctrinating students with CRT principles such as”:

Members of one race, color, national origin, or sex are morally superior. A person, by virtue of his or her race, color, national origin, or sex is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive. A person’s moral character or status as either or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, national origin, or sex. Such virtues as merit, excellence, hard work, fairness, neutrality, objectivity, and racial colorblindness are racist or sexist.

“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” DeSantis stated. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”

In March, DeSantis ripped Disney after they opposed Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law.

“This bill is about providing protections so that they know they can send their young kids to school without them being sexualized, without a school telling a young girl, for example, that she may really be a boy,” DeSantis said. “And if schools are trying to do things that impact the health and well-being of the kids and they’re undertaking certain services, that parents have a right to know that and provide consent for it. So, this is a real bill that empowers parents, it protects our kids.”

DeSantis said the entertainment giant should not bring California sensibilities to the Sunshine State while he is in Tallahassee.

“For them to say that them as a California-based company are going to work to take those California values and overturn a law that was duly enacted and … supported by a strong majority of Floridians, they don’t run this state,” he said. “They will never run this state as long as I’m governor.”

Even the Democratic firm Hart Research found in a poll they conducted in July that voters approve of the education policies DeSantis champions, NBC News reported.
