The Omicron COVID variant has been detected in a fully vaccinated Californian who just returned from a trip to South Africa. This patient, along with most other reported Omicron cases, is exhibiting very mild symptoms. Since the infected individual in California was vaccinated but did not have a booster shot, this is the Biden administration’s cue to start pushing the booster shot even harder.
So far, not one of the Omicron cases has required hospitalization, according to the Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness in Africa. A South African doctor, Dr. Angelique Coetzee, has expressed her frustration with how dramatically the reported news differs from reality. “So far, what we have seen is very, very mild cases,” Dr. Coetzee said. According to the medical professionals in the epicenter of this new variant, there is no cause for alarm.
Despite these reports, the Left is still clamoring for opportunities to plug the vaccine and push booster shots on Americans. This includes CA Governor Newson, who tweeted “There’s no reason to panic — but we should remain vigilant. That means get vaccinated. Get boosted. Wear a mask indoors”.
Now, Biden plans to announce new COVID protocols for people entering/returning to the US from abroad. One of these protocols may include a mandatory 7-day quarantine after flying in.
