Over 20 injuries have been reported at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin after a car plowed through police barricades and ran down parade-goers.  Screams and gunfire were heard at the scene.  Police report three black or Arab male suspects driving a Red Ford Escape.  Police issued a shelter in place order in Waukesha after the crime occurred.

The driver reportedly ran into a group of senior citizens who were participating in the parade known as the “Dancing Grannies” before veering off and hitting spectators.

Video shows the red SUV plowing through participants in the parade before turning and hitting participants on the side.

Another viral video shows police firing at the SUV as it speeds off from the scene of the gruesome crime.

Angelo Tenorio, an alderman running for Wisconsin Treasurer, described the carnage at the scene.

“As we were walking back in between the buildings that we saw an SUV crossover, just put the pedal to the metal and just zooming full speed along the parade route. And then we heard a loud bang, and just deafening cries and screams from people who are struck by the vehicle,” Tenorio said. “And then, and then we saw people running away or stopping crying, and there, there are people on the ground who looked like they’d been hit by the vehicle,” he said.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D) issued a statement, “Kathy and I are praying for Waukesha tonight and all the kids, families, and community members affected by this senseless act. I’m grateful for the first responders and folks who acted quickly to help, and we are in contact with local partners as we await more information.” he said
