GOP rep blasts Joe Biden for 'willfully and intentionally' letting thousands of illegal migrants enter the US after losing 'operational control' of southern border

A Republican congressman claims Joe Biden is deliberately letting thousands of illegal migrants cross the US southern border.

Virginia Representative Bob Good told Fox News:  'We have no operational control, no legal control, no law enforcement control of our border.

'We are not enforcing our laws, we are not preventing people. This is willful and intentional on the part of this administration to facilitate the illegal entry into our country of tens of thousands, 180,000 in [the] month of May…some 700,000 this year, of the ones we’ve apprehended.'

Good returned from a trip to the border on Thursday and said that he and several other Republican lawmakers witnessed groups of migrants crossing into Texas and boarding flights to other states.

Good joined with 19 other lawmakers from the Republican Study Committee to visit McAllen, Texas, concurrent to former President Donald Trump and Governor Greg Abbott’s tour of the unfinished border wall.

Good said that, in addition to the families and young people crossing the border, he fears that there is no way to tell how many MS-13 gang members or criminals are able to cross freely and evade border security

The group of Republicans visited the wall late at night to see what Good described as groups of migrants nonchalantly turning themselves over to Border Patrol as they crossed into the U.S.

‘We saw hundreds coming through in just a short time, we were there about midnight and just saw many many folks coming across the border, many illegals streaming across,’ he said. ‘The crafty, the most cunning, most dangerous ones are trying to evade apprehension and they’re estimating tens of thousands of those on a monthly basis as well, and all of it controlled . . . by the Mexican crime cartels who are making hundreds of millions of dollars a month off of this.’

Good said that, in addition to the families and young people crossing the border, he fears that there is no way to tell how many MS-13 gang members or criminals are able to cross freely and evade border security.

He added that Biden’s administration has only allowed more illegal border crossings, despite claiming that the border is secure.

Vice President Kamala Harris - who has been tasked with fixing the border crisis - has been condemned over what critics say is her weak approach to the issue.

Good continued, ‘The memo has not been received by these illegal aliens who continue to stream across because there is no prevention there at the border we can see. It’s just accommodating them once they get across.’

While boarding a plane at the Dallas International Airport, Good recalled seeing groups of supposed migrants on the plane with manila folder he believed to contain a ‘Notice to Appear’ from the Department of Homeland Security.

‘I would estimate a third of people on that flight were illegal aliens who had their manila folders with some information marked on there to help them navigate the transportation through the airport and onto the plane,’ he said.

He added that his team spoke with a 31-year old woman with a manila envelop who was Guatemalan and spoke little English, but said she was traveling alone to Dallas and then Miami, Florida.

‘So here she is in McAllen taking the same flight we are to Dallas and, I presume from there from Dallas to Miami with no specific day on when she has to appear, and I guess we’re just hoping we'll be able to reach her at some date in the future and tell her when to appear,’ Good said.

Over 60,000 migrants were released into the country with a notice to appear in court or before Immigration Customs Enforcement, according to the Fox News article. Many immigrants have ‘Notice to Appears’ because the Department of Justice is resuming non-detained immigration hearings this month.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris visited the U.S.-Mexico border on June 23 after Republicans criticized her for three months for not making the trek as border czar. While she was there, agents with the El Paso Station Anti-Smuggling Unit found the 35 undocumented immigrants in a Central El Paso residence.

Seven of the illegal migrants were Mexicans, 19 were Guatemalan, seven Ecuadorian, one Nicaraguan and one Honduran, USBP officials said in a release.

The migrants were all sent back to Mexico under Title 42 and prosecution is still pending for one Mexican national who was the caretaker of the home where the migrants were found, officials said.

On returning from the border, Harris said, ‘My trip to Guatemala and Mexico was about addressing the root causes.

'The stories that I heard and the interactions that we had today reinforce the nature of those root causes: a lack of economic opportunity; very often violence, corruption, and food insecurity; and basic needs not being met, including a fear of cartels and gang violence.

'So, the work that we have to do is the work of addressing the cause — the root causes. Otherwise, we will continue to see the effect: what is happening at the border.’
