Horrifying security footage shows the moment a 50-year-old bicyclist in Utah was fatally hit twice by a car police say was driven by his roommate.
Lewis Ricky Yates Jr, 50, was riding his bicycle on July 19 when he was struck by a white Nissan sedan just before 7pm.
West Valley City police identified the driver as 40-year-old Shamil Marcus Bikul.

Yates (pictured in the street) is seen in pain in the middle of the street as the car makes a U-turn. The victim attempts to move out of the way, but he's unable to walk and falls to the ground. Within seconds, the vehicle strikes him again, dragging his body down the street
In the video, the impact of Yates being struck is heard moments before the car is seen dragging him down Market Street in West Valley City.
Yates is then seen agonizing in pain in the middle of the street as the vehicle makes a U-turn.
The victim attempts to get up to move out of the way, but he's unable to walk and falls back to the ground.
Within seconds, the vehicle strikes him again at a high rate of speed, dragging his body down the street.
By the time officers arrived to the scene, Bikul had already fled.
Officers found Yates' body in the middle of the road and his bike was just a few yards away.

Authorities later located Bikul, who lives in the area. Police said Bikul confessed to the crime during his interview with investigators.
At the time, he told officers that he was full of rage after have issues with Yates who was his roommate.
Bikul also confessed to having problems with other tenants as well.
It's unclear what happened between the two men before Yates was killed.
Bikul has been charged with first-degree murder and he's being held at the Salt Lake County Jail.
