A federal judge has thrown out a Kentucky teen’s lawsuit against the Washington Post for its coverage of his viral encounter with a Native American activist at the Lincoln Memorial back in January.
Nicholas Sandmann, a student of Covington High School gained public notoriety after a video emerged of him wearing a “Make American Great Again” hat while standing in front of activist Nathan Phillips, while being cheered on by his fellow classmates.
Phillips, who was seen on the video beating a drum and singing while surrounded by the teenagers, claimed the the group yelled derogatory comments at him before the stare down took place. Sandmann disputed the claim in a statement, saying he believed "that by remaining motionless and calm, I was helping to diffuse the situation."

filed a complaint alleging the Post "ignored basic journalist standards because it wanted to advance its well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump (“the President”) by impugning individuals perceived to be supporters of the President."
Sandmann said he received death threats in the aftermath of the news stories published on the encounter.
The suit sought $250 million in damages.
On Friday, the federal judge overseeing the case granted the Post’s motion to dismiss, ceding to Sandmann that “The Court accepts Sandmann’s statement that, when he was standing motionless in the confrontation with Phillips, his intent was to calm the situation and not to impede or block anyone.”
The judge's ruling added that “however, Phillips did not see it that way.”
“He [Phillips] passed these conclusions on to The Post,” the judge wrote. “They may have been erroneous, but, as discussed above, they are opinion protected by the First Amendment.”

YouTube Sank Former SEAL’s Channel After He Exposed Sandmann Foe Phillips’ Stolen Valor
In yet another example of the left’s deplatforming its enemies, real and imagined, YouTube has deep-sixed retired Navy SEAL Don Shipley’s channel, apparently because he exposed “Native American elder” and “Vietnam veteran” Nathan Phillips as a fraud, phony and liar.
The former frogman runs ExtremeSealExperience.com, where he posts amusing videos of his exposing fakes and phonies who steal valor from real SEALs. He uploaded those videos to YouTube at Buds131, at least until recently.
Sometime after February 17, the video behemoth sent the former Navy SEAL packing. Shipley thinks he knows why: When Phillips the “Vietnam veteran” quickly became a national news story after his notorious confrontation with Nicholas Sandmann and the Catholic high school boys at the Lincoln Memorial, Shipley exposed him as a liar.
    Shipley Investigates
Shipley became part of the Phillips-vs-Sandmann controversy after the media repeatedly claimed that Phillips was a “Vietnam veteran.”
At first, Phillips denied claiming he was in Vietnam, but video and other evidence quickly surfaced that proved the Ohama Indian spoke with a forked tongue. He had retailed some pretty big whoppers.
He had claimed he was not only a Vietnam veteran but also a “recon-ranger” who, upon returning from fighting for the white man’s government in Vietnam, suffered the indignity that so many veterans supposedly suffered: “People called me a baby killer and a hippie girl spit on me.” For that offense, he claimed, he beat up her boyfriend.
The bedraggled “Native American elder” said he didn’t talk about his “Vietnam times” too much because he didn’t recollect them. Well, he didn’t recollect those times because he never served in Vietnam, as Shipley devastatingly demonstrated with such vim and vigor in an amusing video posted to YouTube.
“Everybody keeps labeling this guy a Vietnam vet,” Shipley observed in the video. “He is not.”

  2. The judge's rationale only holds water if the WP reported Phillip's comments and did not add their own spin. They have a right to repeat what Phillips said if they are simply reporting his "conclusions" as quotes. They do not have the right to slander an individual based on information they received from Phillips.

  3. That WHORE in a blackrobe ignored the fact that Nathan Phillips WALKED OVER and instigated the confrontation .... the Kids did NOT move to Phillips, Phillips moved to THEM and PROVOKED the kids.
So screw that incompetent prostitute playing court.
Covington lawsuits should be a Class Action lawsuit. Every single Covington student PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE should get $1+MILLION from Bezos & CNN due to being branded for life. Who knows where or when damages from the FAKE Washington COMPosts stories will strike.
Then Bezos should get one YEAR in prison for EVERY student that he slandered & Libeled.
Bezos deliberately spread hate and we have no idea where or how it may manifest in the future.
Careers blocked because of the prejudice Bezos spread.
Physical attack because of the prejudice Bezos spread.
We don't know how, where or when it will happen but Bezos & CNN put it in motion and Bezos & CNN should pay.

  4. I think we all need to pay a lot more attention to our election of judges today. We haven't a clue who they are, if they're actually knowledgeable of the law or just activists pushing a political agenda.
