Fox News political analyst Brit Hume derided Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) during his commentary on Tuesday and compared her to a child.

Hume was discussing the upstart congresswoman and her controversial Green New Deal with Tucker Carlson on his show.

"If you believe you can change your biological sex just by wishing it so," said Carlson, "you believe in magic so maybe some of this shouldn't be too surprising to us. But I wonder what the people like [Rep.] Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) or the people who have been around for a long time in Washington in the Democratic caucus in the House - what do they make of all this?"

"Well I'm sure they're frustrated by it, they know that the elements of the Green New Deal are impossible and undoubtedly would be impossible to pass anytime in the next two years," Hume responded.
"But look if you completely cover yourself with this stuff, and this is what you're seen to be promoting, this is what the noise is all about, this is what all the talk is about, you know, you may be able to do some other things but they're gonna be overshadowed by this exotic stuff," he added.

"Whatever this stuff is," he continued, 'it makes a lot of news and that's why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for all her callowness and arguable shallowness is is able to become so prominent. She makes news.
"She's kinda compelling," Hume added, "she's kind of adorable in the sort of the way that a five-year-old child can be adorable."

Hume went on to say that Ocasio-Cortez should be considered the "de facto leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives."

Right-wing critics of the Socialist Democrat congresswoman pounced on her Green New Deal plan when she released a bizarre FAQ document that outlined the extremist policies she espouses in order to combat the effects of global climate change. The document later disappeared from the website of Ocasio-Cortez.

Even some Democrats like Senator Dianne Feinstein of California admitted that the plan was too extreme and unrealistic.
