The US Supreme Court on Monday rejected President Trump’s bid to toss E Jean Carroll’s sexual abuse case.
President Trump will have to pay E. Jean Carroll $5 million.
A Manhattan jury previously reached a verdict in the E. Jean Carroll rape/defamation case and ordered Trump to pay her $5 million.
In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged Donald Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990’s.
Trump has denied the allegations and called E. Jean Carroll a “whack job” who’s “not my type.”
Carroll previously said ‘rape is sexy’ and a ‘fantasy’ – CNN’s Anderson Cooper was so disturbed he cut to a commercial break.
The jury decided that E. Jean Carroll did not prove Trump raped her.
However, the jury said E. Jean Carroll proved Trump sexually abused her when he ‘inserted fingers into her vagina.’
In a separate defamation case brought by E. Jean Carroll, In January 2024, Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million in damages to Carroll.
Last month it was reported that the Justice Department has launched an investigation into the funding E. Jean Carroll received by billionaire Reid Hoffman for lawsuits against President Trump.
President Trump responded to the Supreme Court’s decision to reject his request to review the E. Jean Carroll case.
“Surprisingly, the Supreme Court declined to “review” a Fake Case brought against me by a woman I never met (Decades old celebrity photo line, standing with her husband, does not count!). I will continue the fight against this Weaponization and Lawfare Case against me, including the ridiculous claim of Defamation, with all of my power and strength. This Case is really against the United States of America, and all it stands for, and should never be allowed to happen to another President, or Candidate to be! New York State created a Law, for an instant speck of time, going back many decades, in order to wrongfully “nab” me. It was tailormade, and this Injustice cannot be allowed to stand! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump said.
