President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Alina Habba, one of the attorneys who helped the him fight a slew of legal battles over the past few years, will take a White House role in his second term.

“I am pleased to announce that Alina Habba will join my White House Team as Counselor to the President,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Alina has been a tireless advocate for Justice, a fierce Defender of the Rule of Law, and an invaluable Advisor to my Campaign and Transition Team.”

Habba “has been unwavering in her loyalty, and unmatched in her resolve — standing with me through numerous ‘trials,’ battles, and countless days in Court. Few understand the Weaponization of the ‘Injustice’ System better than Alina, who has fought relentlessly against the full force of Lawfare with courage and an unshakable commitment to Justice,” Trump said.

“As a first generation American of Middle Eastern Heritage, she has become a role model for women in Law and Politics, most recently being named Chaldean Woman of the Year,” Trump continued, concluding with: “Congratulations to Alina, her husband Gregg, and her three beautiful children, Chloe, Luke, and Parker.”

Habba, who joins other Trump lawyers picked for roles in the upcoming administration, responded to the announcement on X.

“Honor of my life to serve the 45th and 47th President and the American people,” Habba posted, along with an American flag emoji.

Habba spoke about “lawfare” overshadowing the 2024 campaign during Trump’s October rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City just weeks ahead of the presidential election.

“They tried to keep President Trump and his campaign in courtrooms being persecuted. But, do you know what he did while he was in those New York courtrooms? He won the hearts and minds of the American people all from this city,” Habba said.

She added, “You see the deep state, they underestimate how smart we are, and they want the American people to fall in like a bunch of sheep. You know what they don’t realize, New York? We’re going to be the ones herding sheep out of the White House on November 5. Because, Kamala Harris, you are getting evicted from my president’s house!”

Trump has revealed a number of top White House staff hires after he defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential contest.

Susie Wiles, who served as Trump’s campaign manager in the 2024 election, was picked to be his White House chief of staff. Trump chose his spokesman, Steven Cheung, to be his director of communications. Another spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, was selected to be White House press secretary. There is also Stephen Miller, who will be returning to the White House to work as Trump’s deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security adviser, and David Warrington, the Trump campaign’s top lawyer, tapped to serve as White House counsel.

Trump also unveiled on Sunday a few people he wants to serve at the State Department with his nominee for secretary of state, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).

Michael Anton, who served as National Security Council spokesman during Trump’s first term, was selected to be director of policy planning at the State Department. Trump said he was picking Michael Needham, who worked as Rubio’s chief of staff, to serve as counselor of the State Department, and nominating former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau for deputy secretary of state.
