This is the shocking moment a 12-year-old boy crashed his mother's £20,000 new Renault Captur car after stealing it to go on a 50mph joyride with his girlfriend.
The child hit a lorry, mounted a kerb, sped over two roundabouts and went through a red light before smashing the car into two trees in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Extraordinary footage of the car being chased by police who then arrested the boy and his girlfriend - also 12 - was aired on Channel 5's Police Interceptors last night.
The girl also later admitted she had driven the car on the same evening - and they both got a 12-month driving ban despite being five years below the legal driving age.

West Yorkshire Police officers were initially called to a sighting of the Renault car which had been stolen in an earlier burglary being driven 'very erratically at speed'.
A patrol in an unmarked car saw the Renault cross a roundabout at speed and began following it, as it flew across one roundabout and nearly came off on the next one.
The police car then put on its blue lights as the boy floored the stolen vehicle at more than 50mph as it hurtled towards a major junction then through a red light.
The vehicle then mounted a grass bank next to a block of flats, took a chunk out of one three and then slammed into another, before the boy and girl tried to run off.

But police managed to catch the duo and got the boy onto the ground before finding out they were both aged 12 – and the boy had burgled his own house.
As he was being taken away, the boy asked: 'Can I give my bird a kiss goodbye?' An officer said he was 'not bothered' and 'didn't seem very phased by being arrested'.
One officer said they were both 'very lucky' at being unharmed, adding: 'A bit further to the right on that tree and it might have been a bit of a different story.'
The girl later admitted she had also driven the car earlier that night. They were both convicted of aggravated vehicle taking and driving without a licence or insurance.

The duo were ordered to work with youth offending teams and received a 12-month driving ban after appearing at a youth court on a later date.
One officer at the scene joked that the boy had learnt to drive by watching YouTube videos, while some viewers were left stunned by the punishment.
One said: 'Someone please tell me how a 12-year-old can steal a car from his own mum for a joyride then crash it into a tree and receive a 12-month driving ban?'
Another added: '12 month driving ban? So he can start driving when he's 13!'
