AOC sips wine in DC apartment and blasts critics: 'Guess what? I'm 29! ... I have plenty of time to learn!'

Democratic socialist U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Instagram Live on Wednesday night to assemble IKEA furniture in her Washington, D.C., apartment, drink a little wine — and blast her critics while defending her highly publicized miscues.

The freshman congresswoman — in office for just three months — at one point squatted near her camera, finished a sip from her glass, and gave her viewers the lowdown.

"I'm in this to do the most good each day. That's what I'm here to do," she said before shrugging her shoulders. "So, that's what it is."

After rising to attend to some boards leaning against a wall, Ocasio-Cortez suddenly turned around, leaned down toward the camera, and — akin to a playground taunt — launched into a rant about her age and, like, other stuff.

"And guess what? I'm 29! I'm the youngest woman to ever be elected to the United States Congress! I have plenty of time to learn! And I'm not afraid to make mistakes and iterate in public, either!" she said.

Oh, but there was more. Much more.
"And frankly," she continued, "if the mistakes that I'm making are just a one-off, like, rhetorical thing, you correct it, acknowledge it, and move on."

Will we have an 'I know you are, but what am I' moment? Oh, yes — yes, we will.
"At least I'm not trying to cage children in the border and inject them with drugs," Ocasio-Cortez added to her already bizarre rant. "That's not a mistake! That is a deliberate policy to attack people based on their national origin. That's not a mistake. That's just hatred. That's just cruelty. That's just wrong!"

Huh?

As to Ocasio-Cortez's "inject them with drugs" claim, it presumably was in reference to a lawsuit last year saying detained children separated from parents after crossing into the U.S. were forcibly given psychotropic drugs to manage their trauma.

Anything else?

  • Ocasio-Cortez might have been smarting from her latest gaffe at a town hall last week when she said "they had to amend the Constitution of the United States to make sure [former President Franklin Delano] Roosevelt did not get re-elected." Except that Roosevelt died in office during his fourth term in 1945, and Congress amended the Constitution two years later limiting presidents to two terms.
  • What's more, she fell flat on her face in a viral clip last month grilling Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan, claiming his bank was "involved in the caging of children and financing the caging of children."
  • In addition, Ocasio-Cortez and her allies are joining veteran Democratic lawmakers to try to "shame" America's financial institutions "into taking a stand on some of the country's most divisive issues: climate change, gun violence and immigration," Politico reported.
  • She also lashed out at Fox News in March after polling showed that her "unfavorable" ratings have skyrocketed among most voter demographic groups — and mocked prayer after the New Zealand massacre.

  4. "Plenty of time to learn"? Odd, when one gets a real job, the employer is usually looking for somebody with some experience or relevant skills. A job with as much power and responsibility as a US Representative should be held by somebody with a much better grasp of things such as history, the form of the government, economics, etc. It's not an entry level position. Ideals and opinions are fine, but they need to be based in reality, on this planet/universe.

  6. Stupid C-NT. She is making "decisions" that impact millions of People's LIVES and she thinks(or whatever that is in her head) that she has TIME ? Tell that to those who DIE because she SCREWED UP.
Her ass should be bouncing down Pennsylvania Avenue.
Where is the "Red Flag" law on politicians, police, judges, ALL government employees? These SOBs think they can just take your property based on sketchy claims? Well how about the SAME process for them?!
They are capable of, and DO, far more damage to Citizens, to Rights, to Taxes, then lone actors. The insane politicians do corrupt and unjust acts, police murder unarmed Citizens, judges are corrupt and rule STUPIDLY, employees are incompetent, and corrupt. They all make LIFE & DEATH decisions, are they "clean"?
Where do we report THEM and see them immediately suspended and removed from further corruption by SWAT TEAMS until they have been cleared?
Where are the Mental Screening? true surprise Drug Tests and Steroid Tests, Financial Examinations, for THEM? Alcohol Counseling????
