A police department in Alabama blamed a recent spike in crime for young people's lack of support for God.
The now-deleted post by the Opp Police Department on Tuesday linked a rise in murders to the idea that people are rejecting God and have now "embraced Satan."
"THESE MURDERS HAVE BEEN DONE BY OUR YOUNG PEOPLE. THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE WE HAVE TURNED AWAY FROM GOD AND EMBRACED SATAN," part of the post read. "WE MAY HAVE NOT MEANT TO DO SO BUT, WE HAVE. IT IS TIME TO ASK FOR GOD'S HELP TO STOP THIS."
The statement, which said five homicides had occurred in the county in 2018, followed two gunshot killings in Covington County on the Alabama-Florida line.
Sam Grover, an attorney for the Freedom From Religion group, said the message from the police department crossed the line between separation of church and state.
"The department has very directly endorsed one religious ideology to the exclusion of minority religions and atheism, and decried Satanism," he said in a statement. "Neither message is permissible."
"When there is a lack of honor in government, the morals of the whole people are poisoned. There is no such thing as a no-man's land between honesty and dishonesty. Our strength lies in spiritual concepts. It lies in public sensitiveness to evil. Our greatest danger is not from invasion by foreign armies. Our dangers are that we may commit suicide from within by complaisance with evil, or by public tolerance of scandalous behavior." - Herbert Hoover
ReplyDeleteAlabama's police, and its extremely evil governments have been 100% PROVEN to be dirty-to-the-core corrupt criminals for over 100 years. Their God is Satan.
ReplyDeleteHere in Toronto, there has been a quite significant increase in the black population, in gang violence and shootings. Do you think Satan had anything to do with it?...LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteNo; it's the blacks.
ReplyDeleteyes
ReplyDeleteThe Cop is joking.
ReplyDelete" Steve Wells counted the total of people killed in the Bible by the ”god of love and compassion” and the total is 2,270,369 people! while the total of people killed by Satan is only 10."
Steve Wells
You are also a lot more likely to be killed by cops than by anyone except your spouse.
Of course you realize I was being facetious, we all know it was.
