Tekashi 6ix9ine was affiliated in a shooting a few hours after he received just four years probation for posting footage of a 13-year-old girl performing sex acts at a party, and video of a man groping the young teen.
The Brooklyn rapper, 22, was celebrating the lenient sentence at upscale restaurant Philippe Chow, near Madison Avenue and East 61 Street in Manhattan, at 6pm when a brawl broke out.
Tekashi met up with his new manager for 10k Projects at the eatery, where the man had a security team present. One of the men supposedly barred Tekashi's bodyguard and his entourage from entering, according to TMZ.
Tekashi's bodyguard began arguing with the security man over the matter, before a third party opened fire and struck the rapper's guard in the torso.
Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was reportedly not hurt but his bodyguard had been rushed to hospital in serious, but stable condition.
No arrests have yet been made. Police temporarily shut down part of Madison Avenue at 6pm amid the shooting investigation.
Just hours earlier, the rapper was seen grinning in court as he was sentenced to just four years probation for a 2015 child sex case in which he publicly posted a video of a 13-year-old girl performing sexual acts at a party.
The hip hop star was pictured beaming from ear to ear Friday in Manhattan Supreme Court after he heard the verdict.
Tekashi thanked the judge afterward and said: 'I have millions of youth that look at me as a role model and the last place I want to be is incarcerated, they don’t deserve it. Thank you.'
In the crude video taken in Harlem, the child, sans clothes, was 'engaging in oral intercourse' with Taquan Anderson, as the rapper made thrusting movements behind her.
In a separate video, Taquan, also charged in the case, groped the girl's breasts as she sat on Tekashi's lap. The rapper was 18 at the time.
Tekashi admitted to the child sex crime and pleaded guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance in October 2015.
The judge granted him a plea in exchange for his honesty, and two years of his sentence were deferred. He was credited for one year of the sentence, and will now technically serve only three.
He will be required to complete 1,000 hours of community service and steer clear of trouble.
The Gummo crooner's pals were spotted giving him a pep talk ahead of the anticipated sentencing.
Tekashi appeared a tad more put together than usual, wearing a black suit, white dress shirt and orange and black striped tie.
The heavily-tattooed rapper nervously placed his hand over his mouth and closed his eyes as he prepared to hear the verdict.
Tekashi has had numerous other run-ins with the law this year.
He was arrested in August after he missed a court date for allegedly choking a 16-year-old fan who was trying to record him at a Houston mall.
His arrest for the January altercation came after he landed back in New York City from a European tour.
And in May, he was taken into custody for driving under a suspended license. He was also accused of assaulting a police officer in Brooklyn.
His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, argued in court that his client's recent arrests happened well after the 2017 deadline for the plea deal.
The four-year probation sentence for the child sex crime was what his team had been seeking all along.
