Title 42 is just days away from coming to an end on May 11. And according to the latest data, some 90,000 illegal aliens have rushed America’s southern border just in the past 10 days in the hopes of making it through before their time comes to an end.

U.S. Border Patrol says that 73,000 “migrants” crossed the southern border over the past 10 days, as did another 17,000 illegal “gotaways” who reportedly avoided detection and entered the country without permission.

Border Patrol makes a distinction between migrants and illegals, in this context, but because just about anyone can decide to be a “migrant,” this writer is classifying them together as one and the same – and if you self-identify as an LGBTQ migrant, you are almost guaranteed instant entry under the Biden regime’s entry policies.

Just in the last 72 hours, some 22,220 people were apprehended at all U.S. border entry points, tweeted Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz about how things are really heating up as Title 42 nears its end.

In the previous week, according to Ortiz, another 51,560 migrants were caught at America’s southern border entry points.

Lori Lightfoot begs Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to stop bussing all these excess illegals to Chicago

Some of the illegals rushing the southern border are taking the approach of voluntarily turning themselves in under the hope that they can claim asylum and be allowed to start a new life in the United States.

Most of them, however, are processed and sent back over the border under Title 42, a covid “pandemic”-era policy that allows Border Patrol to immediately send citizens coming in from many countries back to Mexico.

Doing this takes a lot of time, not to mention the enormous level of resources required to keep the process functioning. Title 42 is ending, as we mentioned, which means many more illegal aliens will attempt to breach the U.S.-Mexico border once it expires.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says that up to 13,000 illegal immigrants will cross the U.S.-Mexico border every single day once Title 42 expires.

“This is not a Texas problem,” Abbott reiterated, responding to complaints when former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot pleaded with him to stop bussing all these migrants to her city. “This is a problem for the entire United States of America.”

“To provide much-needed relief to our overrun border communities, Texas began busing migrants to sanctuary cities … Until [President] Biden secures the border to stop the inflow of mass migration, Texas will continue this necessary program.”

In Brownsville, Tex., and the surrounding area this week, 6,371 migrants were taken into custody. The federal government responded to this by turning a nearby college baseball field into an outdoor processing center for the thousands of illegals who turned themselves in seeking asylum.

In El Paso, Tex., all the way on the other side of the state, officials are expecting anywhere from 12,000 to 40,000 migrants who are currently waiting on the Mexican side of the border to try to cross once Title 42 ends.

Video footage – you can watch the video at the New York Post website – shows the streets of El Paso lined with sleeping migrants.

“May 11, they believe, will be the day that they can – without any documentation – they can come into the United States and to continue to move on,” declared El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser on Sunday. “Which is really one of the furthest things from what’s going to happen.”

“We’re not opening the borders, and the borders are not open today, and they will not be open on May 12.”
