Trudeau’s Liberal Government Introduces Amendments Banning SKS and Other Semi-Automatic Firearms

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Castro channeled his inner Castro as his fascist government announced a statewide ban on the sale, purchase, and transfer of handguns effective immediately last October.

Canadians cannot also bring newly acquired handguns into the country.

The nationwide ban was initially declared in May 2022 alongside Bill C-21, which is currently being debated in the Canadian Parliament.

“In May, our government introduced measures to implement a national freeze on handgun ownership. Today, our national freeze on handguns is coming into force. From today forward, it is no longer legal to buy, sell, or transfer a handgun in Canada,” Trudeau said during the press conference.

“We have frozen the market for handguns in this country, and our ban on imports that took effect in August remains in place. This is one of the strongest actions we’ve taken on gun violence in a generation,” he added.

Trudeau’s regime has already banned more than 1,500 types of assault-style firearms.

“Fewer guns mean safer communities. That’s why we’re implementing some of the strongest gun control measures in a generation,” Trudeau said in a news release.

On Tuesday, Trudeau’s Liberal government introduced amendments to Bill C-21 without warning.

As part of the amendments, semiautomatic centerfire rifles and shotguns with detachable magazines would be banned, according to Rebel News.

The recent amendments state that “Bill C-21, in Clause 1, be amended by adding after line 15 on page 1 the following:(g) a firearm that is a rifle or shotgun, that is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner and that is designed to accept a detachable cartridge magazine with a capacity greater than five cartridges of the type for which the firearm was originally designed.”

The Province of Alberta threatens Trudeau’s government with legal action.

The Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA) issued a statement, read below:

An amendment to Bill C-21, currently before a House of Commons committee, was tabled today that will ban all semi-automatic rifles and shotguns capable of accepting an external magazine.

That Bill C-21, in Clause 1, be amended by adding after line 15 on page 1 the following:

  • (g) a firearm that is a rifle or shotgun, that is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner and that is designed to accept a detachable cartridge magazine with a capacity greater than five cartridges of the type for which the firearm was originally designed

This amendment also contains a huge list of firearms specifically identified by name, including the Simonov SKS and all variants, of which 22 are listed by name.

But the amendments are far worse than that.

Formerly unregulated spare parts, such as barrels and slides, will require a Possession and Acquisition Licence to purchase and possess.

The definition of “Prohibited Firearm” will be legislatively expanded to include any firearm “capable of discharging a projectile with a muzzle energy exceeding 10 000 Joules”, “a firearm with a bore diameter of 20 mm or greater” as well as all semi-automatic long guns with detachable magazines.

Liberals also propose to ban 3D-printed firearms by outlawing possession of “computer data that pertain to a firearm” … “that are capable of being used with a 3D printer, metal milling machine or similar computer system…”

Liberals propose to criminalize the distribution of this “computer data” used by 3D printers and CAD machines.

This is a glimpse into the newly created offences for which the majority of Canada’s 2.2 licensed firearms owners will now be criminalized, should these amendments to Bill C-21 become law.

More details to come as we dig deeper into this latest Liberal assault on RCMP-vetted, federally-licensed firearms owners.

The criminal possession and use of smuggled handguns, rifles and shotguns will, of course, remain unaffected by any of these measures.
