A new report from Michigan’s auditor general highlights Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s (D-Michigan.) incompetence yet again.  Nearly $4 billion of unemployment benefits were paid out to people who were not eligible as well as delays for people who actually were eligible.  FOX 17 News Reports-

“A newly released report from Michigan’s auditor general says the state’s Unemployment Insurance Agency was “not effective” in its rollout of the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and in turn overpaid at least $3.9 billion in claims to ineligible people.

The report highlights “actions and inactions” by the agency’s senior leadership that led to an uncontrolled system, delays for people who were eligible and nearly 350,000 ineligible claimants getting paid.”

Upon release of the report, Michigan Republicans responded highlighting the incompetence of Whitmer’s administration.  We knew there were problems at the unemployment insurance agency, but it’s much worse than even we thought it was,” says former House Oversight Chair State Rep. Matt Hall (R–Marshall).

Whitmer has proven her incompetence on multiple other occasions as well.  She has mishandled the Covid pandemic in her state, putting covid patients in nursing homes.  The Week Reports

” Nursing homes, which have been the focal point of the epidemic in this country since March, are responsible for at least 40 percent of all deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Governors in vast majority of states decided some time ago that no one infected with the virus should be sent to a nursing home and that every other imaginable precaution should be taken to ensure that the disease is not introduced to places in which it is guaranteed to spread like wildfire.”

The Week further says “Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, GovernorCuomo’s fellow Democrat, vetoed a piece of legislation that would have prevented patients with active COVID-19 infections from being placed in nursing homes.”
