Unhinged ‘kayaktivists’ confront Manchin at his DC houseboat for not backing $3.5T social welfare bill

Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., are getting a firsthand example of what it’s like to be a Republican politician in post-Obama America, where the radical left have become so emboldened by the complete support they receive from both the Democratic Party and the media that few things are off the table when it comes to the pursuit of their destructive agenda.

Certainly not chasing them into the ladies’ room, as Sinema would learn over the weekend, or pursuing them on the waterways, as Manchin would experience.

The moderate Democratic senators’ refusal to sign onto President Biden’s $3.5 trillion Build Back Better spending bill has resulted in the left-wing social welfare legislation that does double duty as a front for the Green New Deal stalling out, along with a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill Speaker Nancy Pelosi is holding hostage to ensure the passage of the multi-trillion reconciliation package.

Manchin and Sinema are now feeling the wrath of the progressive left for impeding the progress of the unprecedented spending bill, not that the two weren’t already despised for their refusal to kill the filibuster in the U.S. Senate, assuring the extreme wing of the party from ramming through every piece of legislation they so desire with a simple majority — to be clear, despite the media cover, Democrats do not have a consensus to force their agenda on the country. In the House, they hold but a razor-thin five-seat majority, and in the upper chamber, where the split is 50-50, their control comes in the form of the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Kamala Harris as Senate president.

While in Washington, D.C., Manchin lives on his houseboat, Almost Heaven, and he was confronted last week by a small navy of unhinged kayakers while aboard this weekend.

“Senator, this is an investment,” a rotund woman screamed from her kayak. “This is not giving out money, this is not spending, this is building the state that we both love!”

As for the aforementioned media support, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow happily covered their antics on her show Friday, giving the “kayaktivists” a national platform while praising the “cheerful but persistent” group.

Likening their efforts to the “spirit of last night’s congressional baseball game,” Maddow said, “They have boated themselves up to him, to the back of his houseboat, to plead with him to get on board with the budget. To get on board with President Biden’s agenda… What they did this evening was basically just ask him why he’s not supporting the president’s agenda. Why he is not supporting the president’s Build Back Better plan.”

The prospects of the massive $3.5 trillion spending bill are not good without both Sinema and Manchin, who has called the measure “fiscal insanity.” Manchin has been clear that his support is only likely if the bill is cut down to $1.5 trillion.

In a display of extreme optimism, Manchin briefly engaged with the floating protesters — as if a little chit-chat would somehow placate them or distract them from carrying out their marching orders.

“We’re working hard, we really are,” he told the protesters. “We’re going to continue to in good faith. I really want to get a good bill that’s a balanced bill, that’s well done. And I know it won’t be enough for some. It will be too much for others in West Virginia.”

Here are a few other tweets from the George Soros-funded Center for Popular Democracy Action celebrating the actions of the protestors:
