Getting past White House security is child's play! Little boys are snapped easing themselves THROUGH railings of presidential home and into its garden

Two young boys were photographed squeezing through the railings surrounding the White House Sunday afternoon while President Joe Biden was inside.

One unidentified child in an orange shirt looked jubilant as he hopped in and out of the property shortly after 11am.

A slightly older child in a white shirt and rainbow sleeve stepped halfway inside at around 1.20pm, as onlookers extended their arms into White House property to get a closer shot of the presidential residence.

The fence was 8 ft tall, including a 2 ft stone base, until renovations began in July 2019 to raise it to 13 ft, according to the National Park Service

Construction was expected to end this year, but the current status of the project, which has been completed in phases, is unclear.

The new barrier will use 3,500 feet of steel fencing to encircle the 18-acre property.

The width between the black railings is unknown, though they're clearly wide enough to accommodate intrepid intruders given they're small enough.

The National Capital Planning Commission approved preliminary development plans for a new fence in December 2016

The improvements were inspired by an attack on September 2014 , when 42-year-old Army veteran Omar J. Gonzalez of Copperas Cove, Texas jumped the black iron fence and walked through the North Portico door, which faces Pennsylvania Avenue.

He was wielding a folding knife with a three-and-a-half-inch serrated blade, according to the New York Times.

He was tackled immediately, Secret Service said. President Obama and his family had left the residence for Camp David minutes before.

On Sunday, the children seemed to pose little threat as they slid through the fence.

President Joe Biden was inside the White House, according to photographer Tom Brenner, who snapped the photos of the younger child.

First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was on her way to Columbia, South Carolina for a surprise appearance at the 50th anniversary for Pastor Charles Jackson Sr. of Brookland Baptist Church.

Dr. Biden has credited Jackson with helping her regain her faith after stepson Beau Biden died of brain cancer in 2015.

The 78-year-old commander-in-chief, meanwhile, had nothing on his schedule today, according to website factba.se, which compiles a presidential calendar based on publicly available data.

During George Floyd protests last year, a temporary fence was erected way past the usual line on June 1. It sectioned off Lafayette Square, the seven-acre public park directly north of the White House.

The fence was quickly decorated with Black Lives Matter posters and photos of people killed by police.

It is one of a host of security features at the White House, including snipers on its roof and a highly-classified underground bunker.

'He put this out here to push us away, to divide us,' Pete Brennan said of Trump shortly after adding his own poster, according to the Washington Post. 'But the people made it beautiful.'

The Secret Service first said the new fence was a security effort to allow for  'peaceful demonstration,' but later said it was part of the fence replacement project, according to the Washingtonian.

A white, wall-like fence went up in July, though that one was related to the fence replacement project, a spokesperson for the National Park Service told Insider.

The same wall-like fence was erected before Election Day.

The US Secret Service and Capitol Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com about Sunday's mini-breaches.
