A man from Texas has been arrested after authorities foiled an alleged plot to carry out a shooting at a Walmart.

Coleman Thomas Blevins, 28, was brought to the attention of police in Kerville, northwest of San Antonio, after they intercepted a message that allegedly detailed his plans to carrying out the rampage at a local superstore.

Several guns, a number of ammo clips and boxes of ammunition were found together with 'radical ideology paraphernalia' were all found at the suspect's home by the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety.

Blevins was arrested on Friday under a terroristic threat warrant and remains in custody.

During a search of his home, police found various hand written documents and electronic evidence detailing the plot.

Blevins home was searched and deputies seized firearms, ammunition, electronic evidence, concentrated THC, and radical ideology paraphernalia including books and neo-Nazi and Confederate flags. He also had a Saudi Arabian flag

'This case reminds us that we need to always be vigilant. Many think 'that can't happen here', and it was well on the way to happening,' Sheriff Larry Leitha said.

'Radical' books and Confederate and Middle Eastern flags were found along with THC.

One user on Twitter identified the flags as being a Sonnenrad flag used by Nazi Germany, a Confederate flag, a flag of Saudi Arabia and a Russian Orthodox Cross flag.

Blevins was already on probation for a felony and was prohibited from having firearms. He is being held at the Kerr County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

'Our investigators did outstanding work in this case, and possibly saved many lives. The plot interrupted in this case is unthinkable.

'We appreciate the assistance of all our law enforcement partners, including the FBI, DPS, KPD, and Secret Service,' Leitha said.
