More and more details are emerging about Joe Biden's personal habits, including an apparent aversion to leafy greens when he faces the public.

The New York Times recently spoke with more than two dozen current and former associates of the man in the Oval Office, including Christopher Freeman, who catered for Biden several times a week when he was the vice president.

Freeman claims that the staff was told not to serve leafy greens at various events during Biden's tenure because the VP didn't want to be pictured with leaves stuck in his teeth.

As president, it's not clear if Biden's aversion to the leafy greens remains, although the logic would still apply considering he's the face of a nation.

Biden reportedly returns to the residence most nights to dine with his wife, Jill, by around 7pm.

One of his favorite meals is pasta with red sauce. The First Lady's preferences, meanwhile, are either grilled chicken or fish.

Biden is given 30 minutes for lunch - a rotation of salad, soup, and sandwiches - but he tends to eats alone or with Vice President Kamala Harris because of the COVID pandemic.

Freeman says Dr. Jill Biden was 'an oenophile of the first degree,' but that the former VP typically stayed away from alcohol.

An avoidance of leafy greens was not the only interesting culinary decision being made back when Biden was vice president, either.

According to a preference sheet, the staff was tasked with keeping vanilla chocolate chip Haagen-Dazs ice cream around, as well as Special K cereal, red grapes, sliced cheese, six eggs, sliced bread, a tomato from the garden, and at least two apples at any given time.

Joe Biden also liked to have orange Gatorade around the residence.

In addition to his food and drink preferences, the Times also reported on various other elements of a day in the Biden administration.

For instance, aides describe meetings as 'decision-making seminars' where the president 'demands hours of detail-laden debate from scores of policy experts' as part of a 'Socratic' process before coming to a conclusion.

Biden has hung up the phone during a conversation if he doesn't think he's getting the information he needs from the talk.

Sometimes when aides don't have answers on hand to his questions, Biden will even respond with a profanity-laced outburst.
