Two FBI agents are shot dead and three others are injured during dawn raid on suspect in 'violent' child exploitation case - as Florida cops give honor guard to slain officers

Two FBI agents have been shot dead in Florida and three others injured while serving a federal search warrant in a case involving violent crimes against children.

The shooting unfolded in Sunrise, just outside Fort Lauderdale, at about 6am this morning as agents served the warrant in the child exploitation case.

Two agents were killed and three others were injured in the standoff with the suspect. Two of the injured agents are currently in stable conditions in hospital. The condition of the third agent wasn't immediately known.

The suspect is also dead after barricading himself inside the home during the shootout.

In the hours after the shooting, two stretchers covered with American flags were escorted by FBI agents into the Broward Medical Examiner's office.

Footage from WSVN showed officers forming an honor guard as the stretches were taken inside.
