A bar in Ohio is in hot water with locals after a Facebook event circulated advertising a 'Going to prison party' for a woman involved in a drunk driving incident that left  two teenage girls seriously injured.

Ohio residents tagged Rick Tavern and Grille in Fairfield after an event called 'Sending Samantha off to Prison' began circulating on the social media platform for the Sunday party.

Samantha Harvey, 51, is currently awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to a May 6, 2020, crash in Fairfield that left Savannah Schlueter and Caila Nagel critically injured.

She is scheduled to be sentenced for the crash on March 3 and has posted a series of social media posts related to her impending sentencing.

Harvey and another woman were listed as hosts for the party, which was slated to begin at 2pm on Sunday. At least 17 people marked themselves as going, according to a grab of the event that a woman shared with the bar when calling them out for hosting the event.

'Please tell me your not allowing this to actually happen at your establishment?,' asked Skye Truett.

'It's absolutely disgusting to have a 'party' for a woman who is going to prison for almost killing two teenagers. She was drunk and high AND left the scene!'

Truett's comment prompted a response from the bar, which then took to their own Facebook page to release a statement.

'Some of you may have have heard that we are hosting a 'Going to prison party' for someone that caused an alcohol related accident that resulted in someone being permanently paralyzed,' Rick Tavern and Grille said in a statement on Tuesday.

'We DO NOT condone this behavior! Our hearts go out to all that have been affected by this tragedy. This event has been CANCELLED. We were not involved in any way with this accident.

They added: 'However, we are currently looking into options for holding a fundraiser to benefit those involved. Please keep these girls and their families in your hearts and in your prayers.'

Candy Schuleter, Samantha's mother, told WKRC that while she was glad the event was cancelled, it did initially feel like a slap in the face.

'She could have took these girls' lives, and I just don't think you should take that lightly, ever. I feel like she has a disregard for the consequences and the hurt that she caused,' Candy said.

Savannah is overcoming a traumatic brain injury and dozen of broken bones, according to Candy. She said her daughter's recovery has been miraculous.

The mother continued: 'I hope she takes that time to learn from it and doesn't get behind the wheel again in that state and maybe take somebody's life the next time.'

Candy shared that Savannah has an upcoming surgery for her rotator cuff scheduled for March.

GoFundMe has been made for Caila, who is wheelchair bound.
