A restaurant owner in San Francisco leapt into action to save her daughter and two-year-old grandson after an irate customer threw hand sanitizer at her family while waiting on a takeout order Friday.

Doris Campos boasts serving customers at Panchita's Pupuseria & Restaurant for more than 30 years but asserted that she had never been attacked physically until that Friday ordeal.

'For my family, for my daughter, for my grandson. I had to do whatever I had to do in that moment. I don't have a choice,' Campos said.

Campos explained that she had been preparing food in the kitchen when the customer first became violent at around 8.30pm, KTVU reports.

Surveillance footage showed the female customer getting angry while waiting for her food, snatching a bag of food that appears to belong to another patron and putting it on the floor.

The owner's daughter, Doris Vargas, confronted the woman and was met with an onslaught of profanity.

'She was so upset, she started throwing stuff at us,' Vargas described.

Vargas explained that she was holding her son while the woman was throwing the items at her.

Campos then sprung into action, and used a table to shove the woman out of the store.

Stumbling out of the store, the woman called police and claimed she had been assaulted. But the woman left before authorities could arrive, Campos claimed.

Both the mother and daughter hope the assailant is identified.

Vargas asserted: 'Small businesses are struggling a lot during the pandemic and to have customers act this way is really unacceptable.

'She should be in jail because she's not right, what she did,' Campos said.

The woman is described as being around 5'3" and was last seen wearing an olive green jacket and jeans with glitter on them.
