Lindsey Graham Explodes During Hearing, Puts Jim Comey In His Place Over 'Bunch Of Crap' Steele Dossier (Cartoon)

One of President Donald Trump’s top allies in the U.S. Senate, Sen. Lindsey Graham, held nothing back today as he and other members of the upper chamber grilled James Comey, the disgraced former FBI director who was fired by the president in 2017.

According to Fox News, Comey appeared at a scheduled hearing today with regard to his involvement in the Trump-Russia collusion investigation and specifically, Comey’s involvement on an FBI level and what roles he played related to the infamous “Steele dossier” that was presented to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court to obtain warrants against Carter Page at the time.

While Graham reportedly opened the hearings without much excitement, his tone soon changed as he continually received bland and uninformative answers from Comey. Graham, the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, asked Comey a number of questions, including whether the former FBI boss was “proud” of the investigation into Trump at the time.

But Graham became increasingly frustrated when Comey denied knowing anything about any exculpatory evidence — which is evidence that would have been beneficial to the defendant, former Trump adviser Carter Page — at the time that the Steele dossier was presented to the top secret and shockingly powerful court.

When asked if the investigation was “important” to the FBI, Comey stated that it was, although he added that the Page aspects of the case were less so.

“I mean you have a sitting president of the United States by January 2017, you have a dossier that’s salacious as hell that accuses the president of being involved in all kinds of sex escapades in Russia, and a bunch of over stuff, and you keep using that document over and over again to get a warrant,” Graham said.

“Every time you found information to put the reliability of the dossier in question everybody seemed to ignore it and just plow forward. So I want to know in January, you’re not aware of the fact that the FBI interviewed the primary sub source [for the dossier]?”

Of course, Comey indicated that he had no idea.

But that’s when Graham raised his voice, raising the question that Comey — head of the FBI — should have been aware of such seemingly important information. The exchange went on with Comey saying he didn’t know or claiming that he couldn’t answer Graham’s questions.

Graham, in a fit of justified rage, slammed his fist down while proclaiming “Not only is it inadequate, it is criminally inadequate!” — a reference to the seemingly often overlooked information that could have called into question the validity of the Steele dossier.

“How could all that happen and not get up to you?’ Graham snapped back. Comey, with his typical smirk on the other side of a Zoom call, essentially refused to admit or provide any truth on the matter. Graham eventually called the Steele dossier a “bunch of crap.”

At one point, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein stood up for Comey and claimed that the Trump-Russia collusion investigation didn’t rely on the Steele dossier, saying also that America shouldn’t ignore what took place with Russia during the 2016 election and immediately shot off a talking point about potential Russian interference in the upcoming election.

While this hearing will go largely unnoticed in the liberal mainstream media, mostly because of the headlines generated by the first presidential debate on Tuesday night, make no mistake — the GOP, along with the Trump administration, is closing in — quickly — on the hoaxes and shenanigans that took place back then under Comey’s direction.

Their shady tactics are unraveling fast and it’s only a matter of time before the tables are turned on the DC Swamp that tried so very hard to undermine President Trump from the get-go.
