The FBI has joined the search for a missing mother whose two-year-old son was found wandering alone in a Florida parking lot 10 days ago.
Leila Cavett has not been heard from since little Kamdyn Cavett was found wearing only a t-shirt and a diaper in Miramar on July 26 by a concerned member of the public.
Cavett lives in Atlanta with her young son, while the rest of the family lives in Jasper, Alabama. The family said Cavett does not have any known ties to South Florida and they are desperate for answers.
She was last seen on July 25 driving a mid-to-late 90s white Chevy 3500, with a red tailgate and a 'Baby on Board' sign on the passenger window. Police say that vehicle was later found on July 28, abandoned in Hollywood, Florida.
Miramar Police Department had said 'they are 'concerned for her [Leila's] safety and well-being.' The family's attorney said: 'Police have stated she was possibly in the Fort Lauderdale beach area before her disappearance in the company of a Black male.'
Cavett's sister, Gina Lewis, said in a Facebook post: 'Please help me find my sister my heart is breaking. I cannot breathe.'

Another sister, Tyuania Cavett, added: 'Every day that goes passes she could be in more and more danger and we just don't even know it. We have no answers. We cannot get a hold of her in the slightest.'
Her father Curtis Cavett told CBS: 'He's everything to her. Kamdyn is her life. That's the love of her life. She's never going to leave him, never.' On Monday Curtis said his daughter may have been in Florida to meet a man she met online. He added: 'It’s on her Facebook.'
During a news conference last week, Ebony Williams told reporters she saw the little boy in the parking lot and figured the child's mother must be close by. She said she got out of her truck and heard him crying.
'I asked him 'Where's your mommy?' and he just kind of pointed kind of everywhere,' Williams said. 'I reached out my hand for him, and he grabbed a couple of my fingers and we just started walking around the complex hoping that I would find somebody looking for him or calling his name.'
Williams, who said she's been staying with a friend at the apartment complex, asked neighbors if they knew the boy's mother. She knocked on doors, but no one recognized the child. She said he wasn't able to communicate, it was all baby talk.
She called police, who took the child to the station, and posted his picture on social media, searching for his parents. The photos went viral, which is how Leila's family saw them.

Lewis told WPLG the family has no connections to South Florida.
'We're in the middle of a pandemic,' Lewis said. 'So it's not like they were taking a vacation out of the blue with the baby. There's no way.'
The child was turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
'If you are OK, please let someone know,' Lewis said. 'She would have never just left him like that.'
Cavett's family told reporters they last spoke to her about two weeks ago.
'I FaceTimed her on July 17. We were on the phone for about an hour and she was fine,' one of the sisters said. 'She didn't have any plans to come to Florida, so we're very confused right now.'
