As to people wondering about their high rate, overall NYC is very high, they are only the fifth highest infected demographic in NYC. Also most cased in their community were in the earlier stages before the shutdown and restrictions (most Orthodox community cases were in March, and mostly spread due to large community events where a 400 person wedding is considered small, and similar large type gathering). As of now they are one of the lowest in NYC, but overall during the whole period they are fifth highest.
While there have been a few high profile articles attacking them over social distancing, every study, including the NYPD's own has shown them to be one of the best at following the rules and shutting down (acc to a NYPD liaison, it is media mostly singling out those who dress and look different for articles, giving an impression of more violation than there actually is, as well as NYC's mayor ordering the NYPD to specifically target Orthodox Neighborhoods, even when the events they broke up were officially sanctioned and police coordinated).
Among things they have done is 93% of all Orthodox Synagogues were shut down before the govt ordered houses of Worship shut down, banned large gatherings and much much more. I know there will be many haters, and living near many of them I see the abuse they get from people due to misinformation and sometimes false information. Especially given the spike in hate crime against them because of that misinformation.
