Church Sign Has Gun Control Supporters Up in Arms

Most readers know by now that last weekend an armed parishioner thwarted a mass killing in a church in Texas.
Since then the left has gone nuts, claiming that armed churchgoers are more of a threat than a deterrent.
They’re also quite worried that people will use the incident to encourage more armed parishioners.
Here is the church sign that has lilly-livered wimpy anti-gun leftists up in arms:
Would you feel safe bringing your family to worship in a church that had this sign, or one like it, prominently displayed?
Speaking of the nutty anti-gun left:
Liberal Columnist Terrified That Armed Church Members Protected Themselves From a Potential Mass Shooter
When liberals are faced with evidence that does not coincide with the narrative that they want to endorse they find ways to minimize it.
Last week Jack Wilson stopped what would have likely been a slaughter at a Texas church when he shot the attacker, killing him.
Two people were murdered in that attack, but it could have been far worse if Wilson, and other members of the church, were not armed.
But that is not the way Arizona Republic blogger Elvia Diaz sees it in an op ed she penned for USA Today.
“Jack Wilson is a hero alright. It took him only six seconds to kill a gunman at a Texas church, saving countless lives,” Diaz said.
“Unfortunately, that kind of split-second heroism has been turned into a PR tool by gun advocates,” she said.
Diaz was terrified that there were other armed churchgoers who did nothing wrong and who would have never pulled their weapons had they not been shot at.
“We know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas,” she said. “And that’s terrifying.”
No, you dimwit. That is not what is terrifying. What is terrifying is that the shooter, 43-year-old Keith Thomas Kinnunen, had an extensive criminal history but managed to get a gun.
In spite of the gun laws championed by the left the man, whose criminal history includes aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, got a gun.
But Diaz sees the fact that other peaceful people in the church, minding their own business, were able to protect themselves and others, as dangerous. That is what terrifies her.
“Texas has one of the nation’s least restrictive gun laws, including allowing armed security at houses of worship and allowing parishioners to bring their weapons to church.
“Gun advocates didn’t waste any time after the recent church incident to promote the idea of arming oneself,” she said.
“The Second Amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms. And that isn’t going anywhere. But that constitutional amendment doesn’t spell out the types of firearms Americans should bear, nor does it give Americans the right to sell them to anyone to carry anywhere,” she said.
She sounds a lot like former Vice President Joe Biden, the frontrunner for the Democrat presidential nomination, when he criticized Gov. Greg Abbott.
“Dealing with firearms, it is irrational, with all due respect to the governor of Texas, irrational what they are doing,” Biden said on September 2.
“On the very day you see a mass shooting … and we’re talking about loosening access to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship, it’s just absolutely irrational. It’s totally irrational,” he said.
Diaz said a major part of the story was how the shooter got the gun he used to attack the churchgoers.
Yes, no kidding, In fact it is the entire story. It is a story about how your gun laws failed to protect anyone, but an armed man, in a church, did.
Perhaps it is time for you and Biden to rethink your strategy.
