Residents of one New York community were taken aback on Thanksgiving by racist, anti-white vandalism, outside of their homes.
If you do not live in the New York area, or even if you do, there is a good chance you have not heard of this story.
The media is not pushing it, no marches have been organized and no demands to “have a national conversation” have been made.
The vandal, or vandals, spray painted “f**k white people” outside of one Howard Beach resident’s home and there was more racist vandalism on trees and sidewalks on the block, The New York Post reported.
The spray-painted graffiti, written in black and underlined with red, was discovered on the sidewalk in front of a home on 151st Avenue near 81st Street in the neighborhood of Lindenwood on Thanksgiving morning, cops said.
Found on nearby trees were spray-painted messages reading “F–K WHITE,” and simply, “F–K,” police and witnesses told The Post.
The messages were discovered at around 4 a.m. and reported to police at around 10 a.m., according to authorities.
Nearby fences were also found defaced with graffiti that read: “I NEED P—Y ASAP,” and “ONE DAY I WILL COME BACK TO THIS AND SEE HOW SUCCESSFUL I AM!”
”You don’t want to be reminded of the hate in the world, especially during the holidays,” resident Jacqueline Careccia said to Pix11. “It’s a time to focus on the good things in life.”
My kids and I got up excited to begin the day and we came out to see the graffiti,” the lifetime resident of the neighborhood said.
Lina Fransis, another resident of the neighborhood, said “it was something scary and dangerous for the neighborhood and for people to write something like that.“
“It did bring the neighborhood together. We helped each other, even power washed each other’s trees,” she said.
“I don’t want to see it again, it’s disgusting. I want to see the person who did this get caught,” Careccia said.
Even the police who responded to calls for the hateful and racist incident, helped the neighbors clean the spray paint.
“This is horrible,” Barry Rachnowitz, 70, said to The Post. “There are no words to share my disgust right now. It is definitely a hate-crime, especially what they wrote on the [sidewalk].”
“I can’t understand how someone can have so much hate in their heart towards a stranger … Hopefully the person will be caught and punished,” he said.
“It’s horrendous that something of this caliber would be posted on a fence on a holiday,” PJ Marcel said.
“It’s such a tight-knit community and to have somebody vandalize someone’s personal property, especially with these hate messages is disgusting,” he said.
Imagine the media response if the word “white” was changed to any other race.
