The White House was placed on lockdown after an unknown, and at the time unidentified, aircraft entered its airspace.
It happened on Tuesday morning when the aircraft entered the restricted airspace and everything screeched to a halt, WTKR reported.
The event caused senior national security officials across the agencies to convene to coordinate and monitor the situation, according to a US defense official.
The official said the aircraft “is not known to be hostile at this time,” and the White House lockdown has been lifted.
Two US Capitol Police sources said the situation is being classified as an “aircon,” which is an as yet unidentified incoming aircraft.
The US Capitol Police have also given an all clear to the Captiol Hill complex, according to two US Capitol Police sources.

“White House totally on lockdown. All press being sheltered in place inside briefing room. Similar reported response at the a U.S. Capitol + congressional office buildings,” reporter J.D. Durkin said.

“The White House is currently under lockdown – reporters have been evacuated from the North Lawn and are not able to leave the briefing room,” CNN reporter Betsy Klein said.
But it was not long until things were back to normal and declared safe.
“Fighter jets were scrambled after airspace violation reported in Washington, DC; White House and Capitol Hill lockdown has been lifted,” NBC News reported.
