Kentucky Fried Chicken employees were lauded for their efforts when a young girl ran into their restaurant and cried for help from a man she accused of kidnapping her and raping her.
And she says they met on the popular Snapchat app.
The harrowing story unfolded at the KFC restaurant in Azle in North Texas on Tuesday when the underaged teen
"She was just shaking. She was a scared little girl," said Shannon Cates a co-manager at the restaurant.
"I immediately jumped in," said Lynci Cedillo, another co-manager, "grabbed my phone and the cops were here in less than two minutes."
Police apprehended 24-year-old Diamond Marquis Williams, who had allegedly left the teen in his vehicle and gone into a pawn shop.
"If he would have tried to come in he was messing with the two wrong mommas because these two mommas would have put him down," Cates told NBCDFW-5. "I would have held him until the cops got here."
Williams was treated for an injury he reportedly gave himself, and was later charged with two felonies: aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The police said that they did not file a missing persons report for the teen because she had told her family that she was OK and with friends, which Williams had allegedly forced her to do. She had been missing from her family's home for five days.
The girl was reunited with her family after being treated at a hospital.
