Barack Obama has won the outstanding narrator Emmy Award for his narration of the Netflix documentary, “Our Great National Parks.”

The docuseries was created by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company Higher Ground.

“Congrats to President Barack Obama who just became the first President to win a competitive Emmy for narrating Our Great National Parks,” Netflix tweeted on Saturday.

Obama beat out Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Black Patriots: Heroes of the Civil War), David Attenborough (The Mating Game), W. Kamau Bell (We Need to Talk About Cosby) and Lupita Nyong’o (Serengeti II) in the category.

The series is focused on “shining a spotlight” national parks.

“After leaving office in 2017, the former president and his wife Michelle set up Higher Ground, striking a deal with Netflix said to be worth tens of millions of dollars,” the BBC reports.

The former president was previously nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy in 2016 for David Attenborough Meets President Obama.

Obama is the second president to win an Emmy, after Dwight Eisenhower in 1956.

Eisenhower had won his honorary award while still in office, for becoming the first president to conduct a televised news conference.

Obama previously won two Grammys for the audio versions of The his memoir.
