A Phoenix ‘American Indian art’ museum hosted its “first ever Native Drag Show” in front of children on Friday night to kick off the city’s monthly First Friday event in June.

Last Friday, the Heard Museum in Phoenix hosted its first-ever drag show, “Pride Night at the Heard” — and children were present to witness it. BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona served as the major sponsor for the event, with Arizona Public Service (APS) as a regular sponsor.
The show featured Native American drag queens. Sam Toledo, the museum’s digital content manager, told the Phoenix New Times that the show was family-friendly.
Negative commentary on the museum’s Facebook posts about their “Pride Night at the Heard” moved the administrators to delete and limit comments on their posts. Many criticisms concerned the disparity between LGBTQ+ ideologies and certain Native American cultures.
The event was advertised on the museum’s website.
First Friday in June: Pride Night at the Heard
We’re kicking off Pride Month at the Heard Museum with our first ever Native Drag Show, hosted by the Indigenous Fire Queen of Phoenix, Pyraddiction. Joining her will be Miss New Mexico Pride 2022, Tomahawk Martini; Mx Titos Pride 2022, Te D. DeMornay; K.Yasss Savage; Ritavon DeMornay; and Felix.
Enjoy free admission to the museum from 4 to 9 p.m., and then join us in our Steele Auditorium for the entertainment beginning at 6 p.m.. Prior to the Drag Show, we will be featuring Native LGBTQ poets reading their works. The Queens will take the runway around 7 p.m.
A liberal AZ Central reporter tweeted that she was happy to see children viewing the erotic performances and the hostess “even applauded the parents for bringing their kids.”
Recently, a drag show in Texas sparked outrage after children were seen ‘walking the catwalk’ and handing money to the “drag queens” as they performed erotic dances for the kids. The Gateway Pundit reported that Texas State Rep. Bryan Slaton announced that he will be introducing new legislation to protect children from being exposed to this sexual content.
