You’re gonna love the new Starbucks!

Starbucks will phase out its iconic disposable cup and install washing stations for reusable mugs as part of its quest to be more environmentally friendly.

The coffee chain giant officially ditched plastic straws in 2020 and replaced them with sippy cup lids.

Since giving customers baby sippy cups wasn’t ‘green’ or ‘woke’ enough, the coffee chain is now working to eliminate its disposable cups with a ‘bring your own mug’ or ‘borrow-a-cup’ program.

Cup-washing stations will be installed next to the bathroom with needle disposable boxes used by drug addicts.

“Our cup is ubiquitous, and we love that,” said Michael Kobori, Starbucks chief sustainability officer. “But it is also this ubiquitous symbol of a throwaway society.”

CNN reported:

By 2025, the company wants every customer to be able to either use their own mug easily or borrow a ceramic or reusable to-go mug from their local Starbucks. That could mean rolling out more borrow-a-mug programs that require a deposit.

Starbucks is also planning, by the end of next year, to let customers use their own personal mugs at every Starbucks in the United States and Canada, even if they order ahead or use the drive-thru.

The goals don’t mean Starbucks will get rid of the paper and plastic cups. But they do want to make that option less attractive. That won’t be easy to do, as most Starbucks customers are used to that simple, single-use option. But the company has a plan.

To phase out disposables, Starbucks is considering a widespread borrow-a-cup program, in which customers pay a deposit for a durable cup that they take with them and drop back off after use.

For that test, customers paid a $1 deposit, and had to return the cup to a smart bin located in the store to get their dollar back. Customers also earned rewards for using the cup.

More from CNBC:

Recall, Starbucks previously implemented its social justice warrior “Third Place Policy” which means employees should consider anyone who enters the establishment a customer regardless whether they make a purchase.

As a result, homeless drug addicts immediately began shooting up heroin and other drugs inside of Starbucks’ bathrooms.

Employees complained that the bathrooms would be blood-spattered and littered with needles at the end of the day.

Starbucks was forced to install needle-disposable boxes after the baristas were poked with syringes and found drug baggies and blood all over the walls in bathrooms.
