 In a stunning upset, Virginia elected the first Black, female Leiutenant Governor, Winsome Sears. Sears is a former Marine and she is a badass.

Around midnight, MSNBC, CNN and ABC reluctantly called the race for Virginia’s new Governor Glenn Youngkin. Moments later, they called the race for the outspoken Winsome Sears, who knocked it out of the park with her acceptance speech.

The newly elected lt. governor told the crowd of supporters that she was “at a loss for words for the first time in my life.” Sears was surrounded by her husband, who is also a former Marine and her two adult daughters.

“I’m telling you, that you are looking at is the American dream—the American dream!” she told the crowd. “When my father came to this country, August 11th of 1963, he came at the height of the civil rights movement from Jamaica. He came, and I said to him, but it was such a bad time for us—Why did you come?’ And he said because America is where the jobs and the opportunities were.” The crowd cheered loudly. Sears continued to tell her story. “And he only came with $1.75! One dollar and seventy five cents! Took any job he could find, and he put himself through school and started his Ameircan dream!” She continued, “And now, he’s comfortably retired. And then he came and got me when I was 6-years-old. And when I stepped on the Pan Am bowing 747 and landed in JFK, I landed in a new world!”

Sears told the crowd that she is not even a first-generation Jamaican, but she joined the military and became a US citizen. In a powerful moment, the newly elected VA Lt. Governor told the crowd she loved her country so much that she was proud to fight for America. 

“There are some who want to divide us and we must not let that happen. They would like us to believe we are back in 1963 when my father came…In case you haven’t noticed, I am black, and I have been black all my life,” she told the crowd to loud cheers. “But that’s not what it’s about,” telling her supporters what she plans to do, including fully funding historially black colleges and giving our children a good education “because it will lift us out of poverty” and “create generational wealth!”

Liberal cable networks and woke corporate media ignored her speech. Apparently, the first black female lt. governor to win in Virginia was of no consequence to the fake woke networks.

Social media mocked the fake news and Democrats for accusing Republicans of being racists when in fact, they are the first party to elect a black lt. governor in Virginia. And a badass one at that…
