Morning Greatness: 71 Percent Say America Is on Wrong Track

A new poll from NBC News reveals that 3 out 4 Americans (71%) say the country is on the wrong track. That’s an astounding figure. Why the country is on the wrong track, we don’t know, but the dissatisfaction is not limited to Republicans because almost half of Democrats are sour on the country’s direction. Perhaps these folks aren’t getting all the Scooby snacks promised to them during the campaign season. “What people voted for was stability and calm,” said Democratic pollster Peter Hart. “And what they got was instability and chaos.” Empty grocery shelves, inflation, skyrocketing gas prices, and no Christmas presents available for purchase is but a small cost for no mean tweets. More than half (54%) of respondents said they disapproved of Biden’s performance.

The Democrats are still trying to get an “infrastructure” bill passed and Biden is confident the legislation will pass by the end of this week.

“I believe we will pass my Build Back Better plan and I believe we will pass the infrastructure bill. Combined, they have $900 billion … in dealing with climate and resilience and it’s the largest investment in the history of the world that’s ever occurred. And it’s going to pass, in my view. But we’ll see, we’ll see,” Biden told reporters on Sunday during a press conference in Rome after a two-day Group of 20 (G20) summit.

“I believe we’ll see by the end of next week at home that it’s passed,” Biden added.

The progressive social program monstrosity will pass via budget reconciliation, when the Senate and the House hammer out the different versions on their bills and do so without any Republican support. We’ll see if this plays out as Biden predicts.

Secretary of State Tony Blinken appeared on a Sunday morning snuff show to dodge a question about whether the U.S. would defend Taiwan against an invasion by China. A Democrat operative masquerading as a journalist asked Blinken, “Has the U.S. committed directly to the Taiwanese government that it will come to Taiwan’s defense if China invades?” To which Blinken responded, “There is no change in our policy. We’ve had a long standing commitment … pursuant to the Taiwan Relations Act to make sure that Taiwan has the means to defend itself and we stand by that.”

Finally, the blue check short bus on Twitter was absolutely hysterical when a story surfaced that a Southwest pilot uttered the phrase, “Let’s go, Brandon” over the intercom during a flight. An Associated Press reporter was on board the flight, and reported her outrage. “We’re heading east at about 107 or 108 mph,” the pilot said, according to a clip of the incident caught on TikTok. “Clear visibility, mostly clear skies, about 77 degrees. Thanks for coming out, flying Southwest Airlines, welcome home and let’s go Brandon.”

The reporter was so upset, she pulled a Mohammad Atta and expected the crew to let her in the cockpit.

Southwest is investigating the situation. I’m old enough to remember when elected officials, Hollywood court jesters and progressive snowflakes were publicly threatening to bomb the Trump White House, assassinate Trump, proclaimed “fuck Trump,” posted a picture of a severed Trump head, and wore vaginas as hats to protest Trump but suddenly, the office of the presidency is so pristine that there can be no dissent.
