Democrats should be petrified today. Glenn Youngkin's win is nothing short of a bloodbath for Democrats and what is arguably more dangerous for the left is the winning pathway he has shown the rest of the Republican party moving forward into midterms and the 2024 general.
There are many takeaways as to why Youngkin has been able to pull off such a significant and historic win but first let's put things into context. The state of Virginia is a reliably blue swing state. President Biden won Virginia by 10 points.
President Obama won Virginia in both 2008 and 2012, Hillary Clinton won it in 2016. This is not a red state by any political analyst’s metric and many of the citizens of the state of Virginia have been reliable democratic voters for a very long time....up until today.
So what has happened? In the simplest terms possible - it is revenge of the parents.

It’s the culmination of the past eighteen months of teachers unions shutting down schools and refusing to reopen them, the rise and spread of Critical Race Theory, the scandal of a girl’s rape in a bathroom by a boy wearing a skirt and the subsequent coverup by the teachers’ board, of parents being called ‘domestic terrorists’ for daring to dissent and finally Terry McAullif’s (pictured on election night) tone-deaf comment that ‘parents shouldn't be involved in the classroom

It has all resulted in a historic win, a historic wave of red - the Red Wedding of all election wins for Republicans.
Many of us on the right wondered when the woke left would overreach. What bridge would finally be crossed where the American public would wake up and see just how dangerous it is to teach children that America is an irredeemable pit of racism and that the color of their skin and ONLY the color of their skin will dictate their future?
Well now we know. Quite frankly it took less time than I anticipated. And as of today, a new voting demographic has emerged – Parent Power.

Inflation is way up, which is noticeable to any American who has filled up their gas tank or bought groceries in the past month.
The only answer Democrats seem to have to every single problem facing the American public is to write a giant check, ideally weighted towards buying off their coalition of minorities but which which will inevitably bankrupt my grandchildren and put them into unfathomable amounts of debt.
It helped in Virginia that Youngkin is a qualified candidate whose strengths on the campaign trail only got sharper and grew as the election went on.
In contrast, McAuliff got worse and worse and doubled down into the same woke spiral that took out so many of the Democrat’s presidential candidates.
I've said it before and I will say it again; there is data, focus groups and certifiable proof in primary and general elections that the American public neither likes nor is buying this far left, progressive, woke agenda.
So why in God's name do Democrats keep running on it, to their own complete demise? It is a recipe for abject failure and obscurity.
The Democrats are doomed unless they stop running campaigns for MSNBC and start running them for the American people.

Yet as things stand, Biden’s natural successor, Kamala Harris would likely double down even further.
The election in Virginia was a referendum on many things but, most of all, on how badly America has turned on President Biden and his far left radical, progressive minions.
McAuliff brought every single possible Democrat big gun into Virginia to campaign for him - President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris.
None of them worked or resonated. None of it made a difference. Because they all signed up to the same progressive fantasies.
In fact President Obama claimed the culture wars raging at schools were a made up fantasy of the Republicans.
As someone who is currently a parent living in Virginia I am relieved to see and feel the sense of community regarding our children that has emerged during this campaign and I welcome the protection this election will at least begin to give us.
I am hopeful the future Governor Youngkin will not let us down. And as for Terry McAuliff, he will fade away into the obscurity of the trash-bin of failed campaigns. He has no one to blame but himself and the woke agenda he fell for.
No doubt Trump will try to take the credit for this win but, in reality, Youngkin kept his distance from former President and, despite Democrats trying to scare voters with him at every turn, the Orange Bogeyman wasn’t enough to scare them into voting blue regardless
His rotting political corpse should be a grisly warning to any Democrat; Do not mess with mothers, families or children because it will be the end of you.
Above all, Virginia proved that it’s not enough to tie all Republicans to President Trump and hope the stigma sticks. It simply doesn't work.
No doubt Trump will try to take the credit for this win but, in reality, Youngkin kept his distance from former President and, despite Democrats trying to scare voters with him at every turn, the Orange Bogeyman wasn’t enough to scare them into voting blue regardless.
So far, despite the utter shambles that marked the Trump’s political demise, most Republicans have been cowed by the idea that their party cannot win without cleaving to his primacy.
What Virginia should make many Republican contenders consider is whether the Biden Democrats are now so utterly toxic to voters that the GOP could triumph in the mid-terms and the 2024 general election without pandering to the ego of Mar a Lago.
Which is where it gets really interesting.
