Waukesha police as well as the mayor issued a statement in response to a mass casualty incident at a Waukesha parade this Sunday.  Waukesha’s mayor, Shawn Reilly, had this to say about the incident:

“Tonight was a traumatic situation for the city of Waukesha. We don’t have all the details. We can’t provide details at this point.” he said

Police Chief Dan Thoompson reported more than 20 injured, with no confirmed deaths at this point in time.  He said that there is one person of interest but did not specify if they were in police custody or not at the time of the statement.  Some victims had to be transported to the hospital by family and friends.

A Waukesha School Board member, Corey Montiho, gave a firsthand account of the carnage at the scene of the incident.

“There were pom-poms and shoes and spilled hot chocolate everywhere. I had to go from one crumpled body to the other to find my daughter. My wife and two daughters were almost hit.” he said.

He further said

“Please pray for everybody. Please pray. My family is safe but many are not. I held one little girls head in my hand, she was seizing and she was bleeding out of her ears. I held her mother as she collapsed. Please pray,”
Suspects in the case have been described by the police as black or arab, and are still at large at this the time of this article being published.
