Miami's newest high-end vacation stay is not a five star hotel or penthouse apartment, but a floating luxury home docked in the Atlantic Ocean.
Arkup40's 'livable yachts', which can be rented for up to $1,600 a night, will be available for rent from 2022 by luxury rentals Sextant Stays who are planning to buy ten of the ground breaking modular homes.
They feature all the necessities for a glamorous vacation; hot tubs, 360-degree ocean views and even room service delivered by motorboat.
The modular floating homes can be docked at a marina and have the ability to be driven up to 2,500 nautical miles into the ocean. The entire houseboat, which will likely boast two bedrooms and two bathrooms, is set to have floor-to-ceiling, hurricane-proof windows for a luxe castaway experience.
The rooftop is expected to feature a private pool deck complete with hot tub and outdoor kitchen, which guests can have stocked with food and drink upon their arrival as they would a yacht charter, or delivered via bellman as they would in a hotel room.
'We see Arkup not as a real estate product but as a hospitality product that's much more convenient than going to the Maldives and getting an overwater villa,' founder and CEO of Sextant Stays Andreas King-Geovanis said.
The Miami-based hospitality brand says it has no doubt Arkups will be its most attractive properties. If King-Geovanis has his way, Sexton Stays will have at least 10 of the modular floating homes its its portfolio and eventually link them together to form a one-of-a-kind resort on the Atlantic, according to Bloomberg.

King-Geovanis told Bloomberg he expects to have space for the Arkup40 at Miami's Vice City Marina where the yacht will stay docked until guests direct the captain otherwise.
Those who stay in a 2,380-square-foot Arkup40 are able to have a captain steer them out into the ocean before anchoring down with motorized spuds. The captain will then take a tender back to shore, leaving guests in total isolation.
Sextant Stays had exclusive rights to rent out Arkup75 in 2020 and King-Geovanis filled it with travelers for up to five nights until he found a buyer who bought the property for a cool $5.5million.
The sale led him to have hopes of commissioning his own Arkup40 next year, which he plans to rent for up to $1,600 a night.
For those looking to purchase an Arkup40 of their own, Arkup - which dubs themselves 'a game changer in the hospitality market - is selling the model in customizable options of a hotel suite, studio, and one- or two-bedroom modular homes with customizable floor plans, upper decks and folding decks, for at least $500,000.
Future owners can also opt for upgrades such as installing up to four motorized, retractable columns (spuds) that revolutionize anchors and serve as extra stability on the water.
The first Arkup40 will be ready in December.
