Chinese virologist claims she has proof coronavirus ‘is not from nature’

Chinese virologist Dr. Li Meng Yan told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Friday that she allegedly has evidence that COVID-19 was lab-made and was intentionally released by the Chinese government.

Dr. Yan is still speaking out over the virus despite attempts by the media, Big Tech, and the Chinese Communist Party to silence her in America. She reportedly cannot go back to China because she would be arrested for exposing their alleged machinations, as Carlson explained Friday.

Even the liberal media seems to be warming up to the idea that the virus came from a lab in China. Multiple media outlets are starting to question the origin of the virus.

“More and more people realize this virus is not from nature,” the virologist said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” reiterating her assertion that the virus originated in a Chinese lab and experiments were conducted using American taxpayer funds.

Asked why she thought the initial official responses to the claims were to dismiss them as lies, Yan explained that it is part of a manipulation and “misinformation campaign” to “mislead” people into believing the virus was not lab-created.

Back on Carlson’s show on September 15, 2020, Yan stated: “From my first report, I can present solid scientific evidence that Covid-19 actually is not from nature… I work with the top virologists in the world so together with my experience, I can tell you this is created in the lab. This is from… owned by the Chinese military and also, it is spread to the world to make such damage.”

Carlson had asked her if the Chinese government intentionally released it and she said: “Yes of course. Intentionally.” She has not changed her mind since then and, in fact, is more adamant than ever concerning her premise.

At the time, Politifact called her accusations “inaccurate and ridiculous.” After that, She was heavily censored on social media and smeared by the media.

Carlson remarked on his show: “This virus was, instead, enhanced during lab experiments — reckless, ghoulish, very dangerous experiments, that were paid for in part by American taxpayers, from grants Tony Fauci himself signed off on. That’s all true. They’re admitting it now. Even Politifact has retracted its claim that Dr. Yan is a ‘pants on fire’ liar.”

The lab hypothesis is mired in a debate over gain-of-function experiments. That involves work that could potentially lead to the creation and release of more infectious or deadly organisms. Dr. Anthony Fauci has reportedly been connected with that work.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee are claiming that there is “significant circumstantial evidence” that the pandemic resulted from a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. They are demanding that the government put “more pressure on China” to further a “full, credible investigation” into the source of the global pandemic.

Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) and other Republicans sitting on the panel released a report on Wednesday stating that it is “crucial for health experts and the U.S. government to understand how the COVID-19 virus originated” to prevent “or quickly mitigate future pandemics.”

“International efforts to discover the true source of the virus, however, have been stymied by a lack of cooperation from the People’s Republic of China,” Republicans warned. “Nevertheless, significant circumstantial evidence raises serious concerns that the COVID-19 outbreak may have been a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

Backing up Dr. Yan’s claims, Republicans noted China’s “history of research lab leaks resulting in infections,” and warnings from U.S. diplomats in China as far back as 2017 that the Wuhan lab was conducting “dangerous research” on coronaviruses without adhering to “necessary safety protocols, risking the accidental outbreak of a pandemic.”

They also pointed out that “several researchers in the Wuhan lab were sickened with COVID-19-like symptoms” in the Fall of 2019 and the Chinese military’s “involvement in the Wuhan Lab.”

“By contrast, little circumstantial evidence has emerged to support the PRC’s claim that COVID-19 was a natural occurrence, having jumped from some other species to human,” Republicans charged, stating that Chinese authorities “have failed to identify the original species that allegedly spread the virus to humans, which is critical to their zoonotic transfer theory.”

Committee Republicans went on to contend that there are “clear signs” that U.S. government agencies and academic institutions “may have funded or collaborated in Gain of Function research” at the Wuhan Lab. They commented that research “was published even after the U.S. government had paused these kinds of studies in the United States due to ethical concerns over their biowarfare applicability and their potential to accidentally unleash a pandemic.”

“To protect American citizens from future pandemics, the U.S. Government must place more pressure on China to allow full, credible investigations of the source of the COVID-19 pandemic and to allow probes of the likelihood that it resulted from a lab leak,” the report continued. “The U.S. Government must also provide a full accounting of any American cooperation with the Wuhan lab’s coronavirus research, including the support of these projects through U.S. Government funds.”
