Andrew Giuliani claimed Sunday that the New York Police Department informed him they were ordered by Mayor Bill de Blasio to not provide protection for pro-Israel demonstrators at a rally in Times Square.
'We have been told by NYPD that they have been told by the @NYCMayor Office not to protect the pro-Israel rally in Times Square @3pm,' Giuliani wrote on Twitter.
'We will not be intimidated, we will not back down and we will ALWAYS STAND with our Israeli brothers and sisters! Rally ON!' he continued.
Both the NYPD and mayor's office have not yet weighed in to DailyMail.com on the claim.
Large demonstrations – from both pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian sides – have broken out in New York City in recent weeks as the conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated leading to several days of attacks between the two.
In recent days there has been a rise in anti-Semitic attacks and sentiments.
