Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett weighed in Wednesday on the police deadly shooting of a knife wielding Black teen girl, Ma’Khia Bryant, in Columbus, Ohio Tuesday afternoon, blasting police for shooting Bryant to “break up a knife fight.” Jarrett appears to have forgotten what Barack Obama once infamously said knives and guns in a fight.

“A Black teenage girl named Ma’Khia Bryant was killed because a police officer immediately decided to shoot her multiple times in order to break up a knife fight. Demand accountability. Fight for justice. #BlackLivesMatter.”

On June 13, 2008 as he ran for president, then Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) said at a campaign donor event in Philadelohia (source: Wall Street Journal), “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”

Leading Democrats, the NAACP Columbus Branch and leading liberals are attacking police for shooting a Black teen girl as she was in the act of attempting to murder another Black teen girl with a knife.

Bryant was in foster care at the time of the incident that led to her death.

Jarrett dug in deeper Wednesday afternoon, “Just because an officer can use deadly force does not mean the officer should. Let’s spend more time responsibly training them to de-escalate violent situations, and if force is required, use the minimum force necessary.”
