An Uber driver in Miami has been charged with being an accessory to a hit-and-run after he helped a woman in six-inch heels away from the site of her car crash.

Sharon Martinez-Lazaro, 27, crashed her Dodge Charger in South Beach shortly after midnight on Tuesday, narrowly missing a homeless woman on the ground as she careered into a tree and shattered the shop windows.

Footage taken by a passerby shows the woman wearing a long flowing dress and heels, standing beside the silver car on 1400 Washington Ave.

The homeless woman gathered her belongings and left the crash scene.

Shattered glass from the store window was shattered over the sidewalk and the front of the Dodge was crumpled from the crash.

The front right wheel was completely dislodged after the car came to rest by a tree.

The video then shows Martinez taking out a suitcase from the trunk of her car as she waits for an Uber.

Meanwhile a crowd started to gather around her before police had arrived on the scene.

As she calmly walked away from the scene, they began yelling that she needed to stay, and could not flee.

Brian Prahl, a tourist from Las Vegas, was among those who captured the footage.

'I don't even know if she was in shock,' he told NBC6

'She was more concerned about her designer bag, her stupid backpack she put on.

'I was like, why are you putting your backpack on? Now you're going to flee the scene.'

Martinez ignored the calls and started walking away from the car, getting into an Uber which she had ordered on her phone.

Bobby Stone, the driver, was seen on the footage helping Martinez and guiding her towards his vehicle.

Police then arrived and asked witnesses if they had any footage of the driver who had fled the scene.

An all-points bulletin was issued for the car and footage then shows the woman being escorted away by officers.

Martinez-Lazaro was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and property damage.

Stone, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.

Both have since posted bond, NBC6 reported.
