President Trump Slams 'Hapless' GOP Georgia Governor Brain Kemp, Says He's Ashamed Of Endorsing Him

President Donald Trump and his various legal advisers are continuing to rock the boat in the traditionally-red state of Georgia, where they claim massive and widespread voter and ballot fraud took place, including corrupted election officials and corrupted voting machine software.

In recent days, many on Trump’s side, including his supporters, have turned on the Republican leaders of The Peache State, claiming that they’ve not done enough to help Trump and his legal teams fight to, at the very least, have an appropriate amount of time to investigate many of the claims.

Trump himself trained his aim on the governor of the state, Brian Kemp, during a recent interview on Sunday with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, claiming that “the governor’s done nothing” in the wake of the post-election turmoil.

“He’s done absolutely nothing,” Trump told Bartiromo. “I’m ashamed that I endorsed him.”

The president doubled down on his critique of the state’s leadership in a new round of tweets, in which he went as far as saying that he regrets ever endorsing Kemp for the governorship in the first place.

While many of Trump’s supporters and allies agree that more should be done in Georgia to assist in investigating whether or not any level of fraudulent activity took place during the election, others have criticized the president for kicking the proverbial hornet’s nest, given that there are two upcoming runoff races in the state that are crucial for Republicans to win in order to keep majority control of the U.S. Senate.

“This is an unnecessary distraction, as Republicans are united to re-elect Senators Loeffler and Perdue,” a Republican official reportedly told the Daily Wire.

“The focus for everyone needs to be on the two Georgia senate runoffs in January and turning our Republican voters. There is too much at stake for Republicans to lose focus. If Democrats win, they have full control in Washington, giving Biden and the radical left the green light to push through whatever extreme ideas they have.”

Even high-profile conservatives like Rush Limbaugh have recently expressed great concern at the apparent lack of “bombshell-level” evidence that would be required in order to have any meaningful effect on the outcome of the election, let alone overturning the entire thing.

Trump’s supporters counter those claims, arguing that a case of this magnitude takes extra time to assemble, present, and eventually prove in a court of law.

Unfortunately, time is a luxury that Trump’s lawyers are running out of, quickly. Hopefully, they’ll be able to make noticeable progress in the coming weeks before the Electoral College convenes and makes Biden’s media-declared win official.
