After Trashing Trump's 'America First' Policy, Biden Uses Those Exact Words In a NYT Interview

It goes without saying that if liberal politicians are known for anything, it’s their involuntary mastery of being complete and total hypocrites with regard to virtually everything they say or write on social media.

The latest example, according to Breitbart, is from none other than the newly media-declared president-elect, former Vice President Joe Biden. In a recent interview with The New York Times — a Democrat’s best friend in the media — Biden was quoted as using the term “America first” as he spoke about his visions of how he would deal with China.

Just last month, in fact, the Times published a piece in which they made clear that Biden isn’t interested in America first as a concept, writing “President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. makes no secret of the speed with which he plans to bury ‘America First’ as a guiding principle of the nation’s foreign policy.”

Apparently, there has been somewhat of a reversal in that line of thinking. NYT columnist, Thomas Friedman, even titled his piece from a direct quote from Biden, calling it “Biden: ‘We’re Going to Fight Like Hell by Investing in America First.'”

Here’s a snippet of Friedman’s piece after Biden talked to him about the investments he plans to make in America, across several industries, in order to gain the leverage needed to properly deal with China, America’s fiercest opponent on the world stage in nearly every sense.

“I want to make sure we’re going to fight like hell by investing in America first,” said Biden. He ticked off energy, biotech, advanced materials and artificial intelligence as areas ripe for large-scale government investment in research. “I’m not going to enter any new trade agreement with anybody until we have made major investments here at home and in our workers” and in education, he said.

Biden’s America first comment came just a week after former U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis took fire for his insistence in a recent column that he hopes Biden will scrap Trump’s “America First” approach to foreign policy, as Military reported.

“In January, when President Joe Biden and his national security team begin to reevaluate U.S. foreign policy, we hope they will quickly revise the national security strategy to eliminate ‘America first’ from its contents, restoring in its place the commitment to cooperative security that has served the United States so well for decades,” Mattis wrote in a piece co-authored by several others.

Politicians, like Biden and those who support him, always revert back to traditional foreign policy politics, especially as they enter office. But as Trump has proven time and time again, the world has changed. America has thrived over the past four years of Trump putting it first above every other country in the world.

Tens of millions of Americans have thrived under Trump’s “America First” policy and if Biden manages to take the White House in January, we can only hope and pray that he comes to his senses and keeps America First on track.
