Trump Rips Fox News, Reminds Them Of The "Golden Goose" That Gave Them Incredible Ratings

President Donald Trump was nothing less than a winning lottery ticket — in a ratings sense — for every media outlet in the world, especially the mainstream media in the United States whom have collectively spent an unbelievable and unprecedented amount of time covering every breath and move that the president takes and makes.

Fox News, which by any measure was easily the most Trump-friendly mainstream news network on the block, has seemingly began to shift away from favoring the president in recent weeks. Trump has definitely taken notice of that trend and has been quick to slam the network when he feels like it needs a good slamming.

That was especially true on Thursday, when the president took to his Twitter account and dropped a bomb on the network over a string of recent controversies that have left a massive number of otherwise loyal viewers extremely angry and frustrated, especially as it pertains to the network’s coverage of the 2020 election.

He also reminded the network who it was that consistently held them at the top of the cable news ratings charts for the past four years.

“.@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE. Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them there. They forgot the Golden Goose. The biggest difference between the 2016 Election, and 2020, was @FoxNews!” Trump tweeted.

Not surprisingly, Trump’s supporters wholeheartedly agreed with the president’s hilarious — and true — reminder of why Fox News has easily become the most-watched cable news network in existence. But even on that single tweet, dozens of supporters chimed in with messages indicating that they’d already given up on Fox News and switched their eyeballs to emerging conservative networks like NewsMax and OANN.

“We’ve loved Fox News. So disheartening to see this happen but it wasn’t happening overnight,” one user wrote.

Many even suggested that Trump follow through on rumors that he might launch his own conservative television network, should he fail to secure a second term in the White House.

While it would likely be an overnight mega-success if Trump launched his own network, getting a news operation off the ground — even if he started now — could take years. One can hope, right?

It remains to be seen just how much damage Fox News has done to its brand in the eyes of their formerly-loyal viewers. With conservative competitors on the rise, the network could very well be at the end of its life-cycle.

Hopefully, some of the network’s fan-favorites like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham will consider moving to wherever their fans eventually land.
