Newborns in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in North Texas are celebrating their first Halloween in adorable pint-size costumes — and the pictures couldn't be cuter.
Courtney Sanders, a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, handknit costumes for each baby in the NICU so they can celebrate the spooky holiday in style, according to NBC 5.
One sleeping baby was dressed as a hula dancer complete with a knit coconut-shell bra and a grass skirt, while another was a frog on a lily pad.

There were a mouse and lion who had tails on over their diapers, and even a pair of swaddled twin foxes wearing tiny caps with ears.
And Texas Health Presbyterian wasn't the only hospital in the area getting into the Halloween spirit.
Child Life specialists at Parkland Hospital in Dallas hosted a socially-distanced craft party last week to make dozens of special costumes for their NICU babies.
Up to 80 NICU babies at the hospital have handmade costumes thanks to the thoughtful staffers who went all out when designing the outfits.

The Child Life specialists used felt, ribbon, glitter, hot glue, and other craft tools to make the darling costumes.
The art supplies were purchased with grants from the Pauline Graivier fund and the annual Child Life grant in place through the Parkland Women's Auxiliary.
Parkland staff said parents who couldn't attend the crafting party were assured that their little ones would still be given a costume.

The 26-year-old Dallas resident's babies have been in Parkland's NICU since September, and seeing them dressed up for Halloween for the first time was a wonderful distraction.
'Having one baby in the NICU is hard, but having three is a roller coaster,' she said. 'This was a great surprise to us and I absolutely loved their costumes. It really helped us take our mind off of what’s going on right now.'
Other babies in the hospital were dressed up as a piece of candy corn, Elvis Presley, and a Ninja Turtle.
'Our NICU staff is committed to caring for our smallest patients and helping families cope during these challenging times,” Regina Reynolds, director of Nursing-Nursery Services at Parkland, said.
'Our Halloween event is an example of the extra mile our staff is willing to take to bring a smile to their faces.'
